You ever have one of those days when the simplest thing snowballs into a huge ordeal... then you realize how simple it is and want to slap yourself? I got into my car yesterday morning and something wasn't right. After looking around I realized that it was the dome light. First of all, I never realized that I had one. I've had this baby for almost 3 years and it's the first time I noticed this. I always thought the light near the rearview mirror was the only one I had. After staring at it for a good amount of time I shut the car door. Shit. The light stayed on. I waited... thinking that it would dim out or something. No dice. I opened and shut it again. I got out of the car, walked around to the back and tried to see if the hatch was open (even though I didn't get an alarm telling me this). After yanking on the hatch and the window I noticed a SECOND light in the back. Fuck, they're multiplying. I had a vague picture of driving a disco ball to work and got back into the driver's seat and shut the door. Next I popped the cover off and tried to pull out the bulb. That sucker didn't even budge. Finally I turned to my steering wheel and thought about driving to the dealer (and making myself late) so they can tell me that I'm fucked and it's electrical or something. I started to play with the lights in what probably looked like Morse code for "Help, I'm a blonde" and noticed some switch on the side with a light bulb on it and a dot pointing to "ON". Funny, I never saw THAT either. I rolled it to "OFF" and magically the lights went out. Exasperated I buried my head in my arms, hit the horn and scared the hell out of the neighbor walking to her car. Blonde isn't a color... It's a mental illness, man...
