Gone are the days when people are held accountable on an individual basis. The Republicans did it! The Democrats did it! People rally around to build an individual's act up into a trait of their political party. The last ditch effort is to use the old 'all politicians are cheats and liars'. I hate that saying. Unfortunately there are few people to prove it wrong these days. Ideals are squashed and 'take one for the team' is the motto. Regardless of the person's guilt, you are expected to rally behind them to support the party. Imagine if people were held accountable on an individual basis. I would love to live in a world where 'bipartisan' was used on a daily basis. Right now our politicians are a living cliche of what can happen when we vote solely by party line and not by experience. I am so sick of the finger pointing of both sides. I hope that WHOEVER enters the White House next will be a step forward in the right direction. No more 'you're either for us or against us' bullshit. Clinton lied and a dress got dirty. Bush lied and people died. They still are. Reagan dies and is made some sort of hero because he ran the country with Alzheimers. It must be infectious because the people seem to forget about the voodoo politics and healthcare standards that are killing people on a daily basis. Carter gets a Nobel Peace prize for his work. Too bad he didn't do much as a President. I don't blame the party. I don't think all Republicans are greedy. I don't think all Democrats are liberal tree huggers. As for the Green Party... Never met any. I think they're kind of like bisexuals. They don't know which side of the fence to stand on, so they sit on it and hope no one asks.
