that was caught screwing a 16 year old student in a car? here (http://www.timesunion.com/local/index.asp) is what happened to her in court yesterday. Keep in mind that since her arrest after being caught, she was also arrested for drunk driving at 10 AM one day. Her defense had been that she was screwing her students because she had a "drinking problem" & her lawyer said that her drunk driving arrest "PROVES that she has a drinking problem."
After the announcement on the news last night, they interviewed a prominant Albany Attourney, who stated that a man almost ALWAYS gets minimum of a year in either county or state prison. The news went on to point out that there were 13 women arrested last year & only 3 got convicted & none did more than a few months in jail.
Also, you NEVER hear about a man getting arrested for statuatory rape with a 16 year old.
Anyone else feel this is WRONG???
Personally, I think this is the lawyer taking advantage of the 'good old boy' judicial system. I also think that he TOLD her to get caught drunk driving at 10 AM. I thought women have had 'equal rights' for the last 30ish years- doesn't equal punishment' come along with it?
