We have made so many changes in regards to morals and civil rights, It's hard to believe how far, in fact. I found this picture searching through historical sites. It amazed me that they listed this girls' name even. Hatred is a scarry thing. It festers so deep that you can't cut it all out in a generation. Anyone else see a picture or read something that had a profound effect on them?

Hazel Bryan, center, her face twisted in anger, is part of the crowd taunting Elizabeth Eckford, right foreground, as she walks in front of Central High School in Little Rock on Sept. 4, 1957. National Guardsmen who blocked the main entrance would not let Eckford enter. She was the first to try to break the school's color barrier.

It's a story about 2 best friends that grew up together in the 60's. One is black and the other is white, it's really 2 stories. Showing the south in the past and present..... Now that gives the viewers an impact on what Elizabeth Eckford was feeling at the time.

Does any one know where Elizabeth Eckford is now and what she did with her life? The visible courage and determination that shows on her face makes me surprised she isnt your president. My god she must have courage in bucket loads

The world and all the bullshit makes me want to check out sometimes......That's why I stay in the happy Xanadue land ALOT. When it gets too bad, I don't watch TV, answer the phone, even listen to music.......The evil and injustice makes me so angry, I have to void out and get a grip. And the thing is, the ignorance of hate doesn't seem to be getter better with time, just different. :(

Yes it does, hon. For every hate there is goodness. the trick is to move the balance to goodness. History stands to show us how we are doing.

Here's another of my favorites. Anyone else have any?

Germans from East and West stand on the Berlin Wall in front of the Brandenbourg Gate in this Nov. 10, 1989, photo, one day after the wall opened.
