Okay. I didn't like these guys before, but now, i REALLY dont like them AT ALL.

I went to a movie last night called Gunner Palace. It is a documentary about the 2/3 Field Artillery Division that lived in the bombed out "pleasure palace" of Uday Hussein. I found it to be a very emotional movie. I cried a few times and I laughed a few times but mostly I was mesmerized. This documentary was not edited or censored by the army or the government or national news editors. it was edited by Michael Tucker and his wife Petra Epperlein. Michael Tucker was also the cameraman. There was no lightman or boom man, just Michael and all the soldiers at "Gunner Palace". He went on raids with them and talked with them and everything. There was no political slant, no opinionation of the cameraman. Nothing. Just film of soldiers living day to day in Iraq, in the middle of a warzone. The only opinions (other than after the first trip home, finding out that one of the soldiers that Michael was friends with had been killed, Michael did express his sadness in the loss of his friend) were those of the soldiers. They talked about how their equipment was substandard and how they never know if they will make it back from their patrols or raids.

By the time filming was complete, and the soldiers had completed their 410 day stay in Gunner Palace, 8 people involved with the film were dead and 60 were wounded. Tucker has remained close with the soldiers and their families. I met Tucker and Captain Jon Powers last night at the screening. It was a very emotional experience.

They were not able to introduce the film because they were to appear on Hannity & Colmes. As my father and I met Tucker and Powers, we heard about their interview, so before I was able to watch it, I heard about it. They were very unhappy with the interview, but I decided to record the re-show of the episode later and watched it this morning, and I ended it angry as well. They accused the two of having and giving the film an antiwar bias. That is bullshit. There was no antiwar bias at ALL in the film. They did say that they are unhappy with the way the war is being portrayed now in the states. Jon noted that he looked at the New York Post and the cover story was people pampering or dressing their pets. All the way back on page 7 was 50 some Iraqi civilians killed in bombings, and page 17 was 7 soldiers killed in action. All Hannity & Colmes had to offer was criticism and sarcasm. EVEN for the soldier that was over their fighting the "war on terror".

It just pissed me off.

I really don't know what your problem is with that show audie. :p

*shrug* I wouldn't expect much better of them anyway.

I'll have to check out that movie though. Sounds very interesting and the trailer looked good. I hope it screens here.

I used to watch Fox News but now I have realized the errors of my ways. Of course I just watched Shepard Smith whenever he was on. Now I watch CNN for Anderson Cooper
