A Spongebob SquarePants inflatable balloon is missing, swiped from his perch atop a Burger King restaurant at 1st and St. Paul Avenue.
It's the latest in a string of Spongebob thefts across the country.
Burger King officials confirm that Spongebob was taken from his Cherry Creek North location sometime over the weekend.
If it hadn't been for a ransom note left behind, one might have even thought the doll was blown over.
The kidnappers are demanding Krabby patties, and Mr. Krabb's first dime.
The ransom note says:
Your Highness,
If you are reading this note then you have discovered that Spongebob is gone. (gasp!)
If you ever want to see Spongebob again ... (oooooh!) You’ll do every thing I say ...
Muahahahaha!
You will bring me Mystery, SB's pet seahorse and every krabby patty in the vault! You must also steal Mr. Krabbs' first dime!
I will call you with a time and place. Do not involve the authorities or Spongebob will go (POP!)
Cooperation is expected ... You said I could have it my way!
