we have to write a microfiction/magic realism story for our end of the year contest in creative writing, and she gave us a bunch of what-if questions to start with. I have some ideas, but I was wondering was u guys thought. Here are the 2 I picked, to use one or the other:

What if everytime someone swore, it rained?

OR

What if cancer could be cured by tap dancing?

which do u think I should use?

Hmmm. Well, if it rained every time someone swore, it would literally rain all the time, I'm sure.

I think the cancer being cured by tap dancing would be more interesting as a writing topic.

Here's my first draft:

Diary of a Tap Dancer

I hate tap dancing. I hate the movement of it, and the sound it makes. It’s an awkward dance, even if it’s good for us. It might be good for our bodies, but it’s driving me out of my mind. I mean, we’ve all been tap dancing for so many generations, how do we know if we still need to? How do we know that cancer will kill us if we stop the insane tapping? We don’t. I’ve been thinking about trying something new. True, that could get me killed, but I’m willing to take that risk. I want to be able to choose whether I live with my feet always tapping or my body riddled with cancer. I’ve heard stories that a long time ago people survived cancer with medicine, and they didn’t have to tap. Sounds insane, I know, but I also heard that they used to do different kinds of dances, one was called ballroom dancing, and another ballet. I don’t know if I believe those old wives tales, but it would be an interesting life without enforced tapping.
