Bert reminded me of this idea, so here it is. When someone says something funny on the web how do you usually show your laughter?

I use "heh". I'm boring.

More often than not - LOL
If it's funnier than normal - LMAO
If it's really funny (i.e. seeing JakeD bend over and rip his pants to reveal treadmark undies) - LMFAO
If it's really really really funny (Ummm... heh. no) - LMMFAO

It's pretty even between LOL and heheheee...

It depends on what kind of laugh the joke actually elicited from me. I only type the sound I'm actually making--sort of. Or the sound I'm making in my head so that no one at work thinks I'm nuts just laughing randomly.

how about all the above? I hate typing A0l3r but sometimes I have no choice. Plus I'm lazy. I do throw hehe and haha in sometimes just so its not too boring. But overall I hate typing any kind of laugh track generally speaking

but you need a big laugh track when u talk with me ;)

I usually use LOL, but sometimes I get bored with typing that over and over and I'll switch to HEEHEE or HEH to keep the conversation spicy :winkkiss:

I tend to improvize, but I can't be doing with abbreviations, it would just feel like working for the local council. I usually waver between "Hahahaha!", "Ha," (move the subject along) and simply ignoring the original joke like a bad smell. I always feel the need to italicize laughter, for some reason...I have no idea why, but yes, signifying a state of amusement on the internet is a difficult thing. They should award the purple heart for every successful attempt.

What I type depends on my mood and the moment as well as who I am talking to.

I use hehe, or hehehehe... I think lol or LOL looks kinda cheesy. I think haha is sort of sarcastic. I am a big fan of stfu and wtf, those are great. I try to use the "buddy icons". I find that the yahoo! messenger ones are better than the ones on AIM.

hehe

i dunno, I'm really kind of lame in that regard.

I personally think its hard to put it down so narrow as to pick just one, every moment is different so sometimes it might be hehe, other times lol, but as a general rule I use hehe more often than any of the others. :)

I use many things. Why limit oneself?

I notice that most people usually use the same thing in general conversation. I just wanted to see what people USUALLY use when something funny comes up. I use haha a lot.

Depends, if I actually _do_ laugh out loud then I lol. :) I do like smileys though.

heh...I always use heh...

that or hehe...or haha...and rarely lol...

I dont really like the lol though because i dont think ppl actually laugh out loud for a lot of things and its overused by ppl sometimes...(i know ppl who use it whenever...its like a thing to say in spaces of no conversation)

I always use heh and my friend thought that i wasnt laughing at it cuz it wasnt lol or heheheheheheh...

oh well
