lol I may be a kid, but I'm sure you'll like the first story I wrote for the net:

--------------------
Captain Anton Edwards braced himself against a wall on the Bridge, as the Redemption, an Ion Cannon Frigate shook with the impacts of weapons fire.

The battle was taking place for control of the Sirus System; near the Republic’s capitol, Sol. The Republic was desperate to win this battle; this system was a key springboard into each other’s vital orgains, and both could use it.

The Ulik’Tai were a bunch of races who were so paranoid about thier own domination they attacked the Republic outa nowhere.

"Decks two and five report fires; fire control units respoding," Reported Commander Sulu, "Ion Cannon capaciter Alpha recycled; gunnery crews report ready to fire."

Edwards licked his lips and went up to the holo-display. The Ion Frigate class sported one single weapon; a standard Capitol-class Type B Ion Cannon. The weapon was so massive it took up nearly 2/3rds of the ship, and drained every ounce of power not on Life support or Shields. However, the Ion Cannon was worth it; the weapon was so powerful it could slice clean through the armor plating and shields of a starship in only a few seconds; then the real fun began.

"Firing solution... there. Destroyer class at mark .353," Ordered Anton.

"Done sir," Ops Officer Akia reported, "Ion gun is hot, linked and synced, and locked on the bastard."

"Fire."

Admiral Kam-Iushu on board the Republic Battleship Patriot saw a huge, bright blue beam of energy knife through space, into an enemy starship. The source was a Republic Ion Frigate, the newly commissioned Redemption.

The enemy destroyer rocked from the impact; a bright, light-blue explosion enveloped the Destroyer. It cleared, and a burning, sliced wreck, twisted bewond recognition, was left.

The Admiral smiled, these little Ion Frigates were damn powerful; the Patriot almost had to waste the loads of a dozen missile pods, and two Plasma Cannons to knife through that piece of junk.

Then he returned to monitoring the status of his own Plasma Cannons; Gunnery Crew Alpha had just cycled out and crew Delta was on station. The Plasma capacitors were eighty per cent charged; and gaining energy. Fireball Missile Pods F-5 through U-2 were out of ammunition, A-1 through B-7 were reloading, and the rest were out of commission.

‘"Sir, Plasma Cannons A and B ready to fire," Reported Commodore Black.

"Good. Fire when locked," The Admiral Ordered, "Helm. Give me Full Burn to zero one five five three six zero."

Two streamers of Plasma blasted from bulbous turrets on the Battleship’s hull bursted forth; both dissected an enemy Frigate in seconds.

Commodore Black stepped closer to the display and did calculations. "Admiral, that course takes up nose-to-nose with the Enemy Flagship, and I don’t need to point out it’s firepower is superior by a tenfold to our own."

"Glad you agree with my calculations," Kam-Ishu pointed out dryly.

"Aye sir," Helm Officer O’Brian said, "Engines answering full burn!" The hull groaned as the huge ship slowly began to overcome it’s intertia and steam ahead towards the enemy through a Plasma-, Ion-, and Missile-filled space.

Suddenly, a laser-fine bolt of Plasma hit the Patriot amidships. The deflector shields, already weak from laser, missile and mass impacts, failed. The Plasma boiled through layers of tough alloy armor. Then, the Admiral felt the thunks of explosive decompression.

"Hull breach on decks eighteen and twenty!" Announced an officer. "Sealing Blast doors to decompressing area... done."

A wedge shape formation of four missiles hit the Patriot, causing it to rock and punching through another layer of armor.

"Range to destination?" The Admiral asked through gritted teeth.

"400.6 Star-Clicks and closing sir at a rate of 40000 Star-Clicks an hour," Reported Black, "Sir, Structual Integrity of this ship is in Danger, as we have nothing to protect us and enemy fire has already pierced several points."

"Keep. Going." Admiral Kam-Ishu ordered. He glanced as the gunnery reports; Plasma Cannon G was destroyed, Plasma Capacitor Gamma was off-line. Only a dozen missile pods and two Plasma cannons were at the ready. "Black, heat our weapons and give me a firing solution on the Flagship."

"Aye, crews report weapons ready. Calculating... got em!" Black said, concentrating. "Fire?"

"Wait."

Another Plasma bolt pierced the Patriot, slicing through seven decks.

"Range to target, 300.3 Star-Clicks, and sir! An enemy Cruiser is moving accross our path; he’s going to take our fire and try to stop us," Commander Durro reported, his voice urgent.

The Admiral had hoped for this. "Good. Target the Cruiser; Send a communique to the Carrier Freedom; coordinate with our guns and fire at will! Blast that bastard back to Ulik’Tai!"

Durro nodded, and with his four tentacles he typed up a communique and sent it, and then ordered the guns to fire.

Red streaks of fire and dozens of missiles etched a trail into the enemy ship; antimissile fire pierced several with laser blasts. The rest hit it’s reinforced shield. The last hit caused the shields to overload. From behind the Patriot, three more streamers of Plasma lunged at the enemy ship.

The first one melted an armor section; the second and third went into the ship’s insides and lit it on fire. Flames vented from every opening; explosions broke out, and finaly the mass imploded into a chunk of alloy plating.

"Hows the structual integrity of the nose, number two?" Inquired Kam-Ishu.

Black replied, "The nose sir? It’s decent, most of the damage has been to the port midesctions."

"Then ram that piece of metal, full speed. Prepare to answer all stop abruptly." The Admiral smirked; the mass would be headed stright for the flagship. And his weapons were recharging; they would be ready for another strike when he needed it. "And signal that Ion Frigate as well as the Freedom; both fire when I tell them to."

The crew did as told. "Impact in three seconds," Noted Black, typing orders in his holographic keyboard.

The Admiral braced as another missile barrage hit the Patriot; and continued his hold on a guard-rail.

THUMP! The ship’s crew lurched as their momentum carried them forward about a half-meter.

"Contact," Reported Black, resuming his post. "Nose is holding, and we are on course for the enemy ship, mass and all."

Yes, the plan had worked. That mass would knock the hell out of the flagship, and then the fire from the three Republic starships would burn it all the way to hell and back a few times.

Streamers of fire hit the mass, heating and twisting it. But the mass was still there.

"Contact in five seconds," Black said.

"All stop!" Barked Kam-Ishu. The ship halted, and the crew again was pulled forward by thier momentum.

The mass continued on. It hit the flagship, and the deflector shields failed. "Now! All batteries open fire! Order the Redemption and Freedom to fire as well!"

Twin Plasma beams disected the ship, slicing through armor layers and decompressing decks. Missile barrages made pinprick explosions appear across the hull. Then the other ships fired; first the Plasma and missiles hit. Then another blue beam knifed into the ship. It was enveloped in blue light.

The light slowly faded, revealing nothing. The crew cheered; the enemy fleet without it’s command ship began to retreat, facing the choice of surrender or destruction by the Republic.

Kam-Ishu exhaled; he had been holding his breath. They had won this one; a decisive blow. But it was only the first of many battles. This war had a LONG way to go.

But for now, the Republic had won.

"Sir! You did it!" Black said joyfuly.

"No, number two... WE did it." Kam-Ishu glanced deep into the stars.
