It's strange how we are the most creative when it's tragic. Something bad happens and page long rants/poems/songs are written. You fall in love? Nothing. Maybe it's because people don't want to read about someone else's happiness. Fluffy kittens and red roses just aren't enough to peak peoples' interest. Then again, people can relate to pain much better. You say, "I'm in love" and get a "How nice" in return. You say "I fucked up my knee" and get "I remember when I..." and "OH! And then there was then time when..." in return. People can't stop telling you about what BAD things have happened to them. The worst part is when it becomes a contest to see who had it the worst. I'm still trying to figure out if winning is a good thing or not.
