I've got a 120 gig hard disk if my memory serves me well. In a few hours I will be on a one hr flight from a country with 7 million people to a city with over 6 million people. I will have one suitcase, a camera, a laptop and the hard disk. It'll be my moving to London to be a student again. I can keep a lot of music on that hard disk although it's not as compact as others. At the moment it's working hard since I'm moving several gigabytes of music onto this hard disk.
Any of you have external hard disks to increase how much data you can have?
No, I haven't. The ones I've seen have been a bit too pricey for my tastes, and I can't be arsed to buy an exterior to put an extra HD into...I toyed with the idea a bit when I was still using the laptop, but then Diva gave me her old desktop and said idea went into the trash... :P
I'd use one if the need arose, but I really don't have much use for one anymore. I'd like one for backup, though.

As a student who's going to be working on video editing it's better to have a large capacity hard disk for any projects I work on. With the external hard disk it means I can do the work without worrying about how much material I'm catpuring or rushing to finish it because others need to use the space.
I was gonna buy one to use for school, as a lot of the work I'll be doing here at home and then transferring to school. Unfortunately, for this semester at least, the computers I'm using at school are Macs, so I don't know if it would be compatible or not. I doubt it though.
I think they're a great invention, and the guy who came up with it will be rich as hell before it's all said and done.
