This weekend I went to LA, and I must admit at first sight I was scared shitless. Growing up in Scottsdale, prolly one of the nicest suburbs of Phoenix, I was completely unprepared for what I saw. No longer was a honk of the car horn a friend trying to get your attention to give you a friendly wave. Instead it was a sonic bitch slap followed by a barrage of colorful metaphors telling you to move out of the way. Street signs and addresses were no longer in an organized fashion, but instead seemed to be a cruel practical joke played by the city itself. Yes, by Saturday morning I was already reconsidering moving to LA. I was way too much of a Zony (that’s California Slang for an Arizonan, or so I here) to be moving to such a large city. And then, later that afternoon, I saw it. It’s beauty was completely indescribable. And it was so large I felt like I could drown in it (which I actually quite possibly could.) The Pacific Ocean, a rather obvious conclusion I’m sure. I could not stop looking at it. It just seemed to never end. It was as if I had wondered into an illusion. Needless to say I did find a nice apartment near a park in a (more or less) suburb of LA. A place a bit more my speed. And although I’m sure the novelty will ware off eventually, for now, I am only 20 min. away from one of the best wonders my eyes have ever seen…:)

Yay! I told you so! California's a great place to be, Sunny. And you've got something to add whenever someone complains about the heat, that's for darn sure! Did you see the sunset? Did it rival yours? I've never been to Arizona before, but I heard the sunsets were incredible.

Welcome to California!!!!

My new neighbor's almost here! I know the draw of the ocean, if only for it's beauty. I'm a land person by choice, but there is nothing like a beautiful sunset to end a day. I have aquariums at home that I love to look at. The sound of the water is so calming, and my cats are entertained for hours! I don't think they'll ever learn that jumping at the fish = bonking their head against a hard surface.

The weather [Minus the Earthquakes] makes living here worth it. It's sunny all year round, except for a few showers here and there. But I guess we all have our special reasons for loving where we live. Anyone else want to share theirs?

Diva as a neighbor? You lucky dog! I've been to California. You've got to see Venice beach. Man, it's a place you could just sit and watch all of the different walks of life in one place.

I know. He's going to try to try and post as much as he can. Moving out for the first time is tough. I'd eat pasta plain to save for a computer!!! Can anyone imagine life without one at this point?
