Hey everyone! I was just wondering what everyone's most important issue was going into the 2004 election, and how that would be effecting your vote.

My important issue is the War on Terror, and I'm therefore voting for Kerry, though I don't know that he will wage the type of campaign I hope for. Bush just seems too convinced this is a purely military struggle (like LBJ in Vietnam) and I don't think that will work.

Anyone else?

If I had to choose, I'd say it's civil rights. I'm afraid that our country is leaning towards another era of Mccarthyism. Our civil rights are being threatened and the country has taken on a terrifying 'you're either for us or against us' attitude. I want to be able to speak without being called a traitor. Yes, I am voting for Kerry.

Mine's the economy/job prosperity kick. Personally, I've seen way too many people suffer from a lack of work, and I suffered from the same bit myself for a while. I've seen a lot of good people end up getting laid off/fired due to efficiency cuts and re-organization, as well as a lot of jobs being made entirely obsolete. And we weren't seeing this when Clinton was in office, nor were we seeing it for the first few months-almost a year of Bush's tenure. Once he secured his spot and spent a ton of government money on everything for the "war" effort, it all went downhill.
