View Full Version : How heartless is this?

Just over a week ago a guy who I work with, his mother died. We had a whip round for him and gave him our condolences, he took a week off work to get over the funeral, only when he came back he was told he was'nt up to the required standard of ASDA/Wal-mart. The fuckers sacked him!
Now the guy did the work required of him, he even worked overtime at christmas for the same standard rate of pay, (which we all did) he wasn't the quickest witted person there, but he never complained about what was required of him, he just got on with it. Are these arseholes who manage places like this compassionate? What do you think I should do to bring them back to reality? Answers on a postcard to this address.......
Company's are so damn brutal. When it comes to profit, they act like it's Christmas and your santa. A big ole paper-pat on the back. But when things get a little tight, that paper becomes a pinkslip and a hand to drive it in. There is no room for the human factor when money is involved. I could never be in a position of any driving force. They are heartless and even cruel. Their 'reasons' for getting rid of a person extends only to how much space is eliminated between them and the mighty dollar. :finger:
Ahh, the beauty of business. I'm not sure but I believe there are fair employment laws covering such an event as firing after taking a leave for family. Not entirely sure however.

Get used to it OZ because while ever the company accountant has more say than the CEO its always going to be this way. Have you ever met an accountant that was in any way human at all? I doubt it. Ill tell where accountants come from. When you sign the organ donor spot on your licence that gives them the right to take your arse hole and hang it on a nail on a wall. Each day they have a guy who comes around and puts his finger in each arse hole and stretches it just a little. Then one day when the arse hole has been stretched to the point where it finally touches the floor they give it a breif case and glasses and graduate it as a brand new accountant.
