There are so many superstitions out there that people roll their eyes to. Then there are a select few that some automatically acknowledge, either consciously or subconsciously. Which of these do you 'follow'? This is a multiple choice.

For instance: I break a mirror and say, "Shit. Seven years bad luck." It's not like I expect seven years of hell, yet the superstition is the first thing that runs through my mind.

Spilling salt. Every time I do it, I automatically pick up a pinch and throw it over my left shoulder to ward off a fight/quarrel that'd otherwise happen (supposedly).

I don't really belive it, just a very old habit from when I was really young and my nanny told me about it.

A lot of Swedes here avoid killing spiders because "it'll rain the day after". Maybe they are so nice to spiders because Sweden has no poisonous ones? :p

None, I am not superstitious. But there isn't a slot for that one.

I make my own luck.

Now we understand why there's so much rain in England, everyone must be killing spiders.

So in the Saraha a spider is never killed?

And the Attacama desert...

but in the tropics they're always killed.

I don't follow any superstitions either...I just think they're kind of a waste of time. I've known people who were extremely superstitious and to me, they just reeked of extreme paranoia.

I don't follow any superstitions, either. Sometimes I break them on purpose just to be daring. (I.e. stepping on cracks and walking under ladders)

:D

If you think it's daring it means you believe them slightly doesn't it. It's more for fun that people mention them.

I still got 3 more years to go because i broke a mirror... its no wonder it resulted to the break up of my recent relaionship. it was for the best iguess

none

i have bad luck anyways and it has nothing to do with broken mirrors or whatnot...although i have broken them....(stupid 'unbreakable mirror')...i love black cats, the only reason i wouldnt walk under a ladder is if it was about to fall over, or is someone was dripping paint or something...i spill a lot of things, including salt...all i do is just wipe it up...i love crows, they dont bother me at 6 in the morning...and i would only avoid cracks if they were wide enough for me to fall into

Speaking of Friday the 13th, I threw out my back at work today. How? Oh, I stood up.

Argh.

I'm genetrally not superstitious...at least...not until right after I break a mirror. Then I get worried.

I'm not superstitious. However it goes through my mind when the instances happen. OMG, I walked under a ladder...someone might drop a paintbrush on me...OMG A black cat just shot past me...oh, and there's the dog chasing it...OMG I broke a mirror, I might cut myself while cleaning up the shards...OMG, it's winter time and I just spilled salt outside...I'm gonna melt some snow. It's all a load of bull, I think.

Not sure if this counts or not, but I've found that if I talk or think about someone I haven't heard from for YEARS, I run into them or get a call from them. This is not circumstantial, because it has happened repeatedly throughout the years.

Also- when I go to draw blood on someone, I will NOT tell people how good I am at it until after I'm done. If I do, it's for sure that I'll miss & have to stick the person again. If I don't, I rarely IF EVER miss! I'm known in both companies as almost ALWAYS getting the blood draws.

As for the rest of it, I've stepped on cracks & Mom's back's not broken yet, (she's 84) purposely walked under ladders, spill salt & blow it off the table, & just about every other thing that's supposed to be disasterous. I don't kill spiders often because they eat bugs I hate a LOT more than I hate them- mosquitos & black flies. And as far as the broken mirror thing, I don't break mirrors- lately I break glass. I have 3 panes to replace before winter. Yuk.

I apologise for being logical, I'll avoid it in the near future.

/me steps on a crack as he walks under a ladder, just as a black cat crosses his path, he breaks a mirror and spills some salt and actaully...he *is* a crow!

No, you won't. But that's ok. I wouldn't expect anything else. ;)
