When looking at...well, anything, how important is appearance to you? Does it make a big difference as far as how you use it, or does functionality win over looks?

Do you prefer the minimalist approach, or do all the extras make it more rewarding for you to use something?

Well, appearance does matter to me...with many things. Like, clothing, design, furniture etc etc stuff...well, I like things to have a lot of nice details, but also to be streamlined. I like the clean lines of Asian design and yet hate the sterility of most modern art.

It just isnt right unless crap is strewn all over the place. I hate setups where nothing ever goes more than about 4 feet off the ground, which seems to be the new style. I have shelves and junk that are 7+, along with pictures. I hate windows, too..

Functionality will win out over appearance with me 9 times out of 10, but appearance IS important in some matters.

i wont go for just one or the other unless theres no point to a pretty thing that i must have.....functionality plays a part as well as how it looks....if its pretty but doesnt really do anything im not really into it...but if it does a lot of things and looks like a piece of crap then im not into it either

i like the minimalist style but i could never properly pull it off...i have too much stuff...

Functionality almost every time.

"Hey Jim, that's an awesome looking car you got there!"

"Thanks Bob, too bad it don't run!"

I think it's rediculous to buy something just because it's "cool" or "pretty." I'd rather have some busted up, ugly looking thing that does exactly what it's supposed to do than some shiny piece of junk.
