They have disconnected my sister in law from the ventilator & she's breathing on her own & is now back to awareness. She has told my brother & her parents that she does NOT want to be hooked up to that ever again- does not want to be resuscitated. My mom didn't understand what that meant- thought that she wanted to stop being fed, etc. & starve to death, but after telling her 4 or 5 times what it REALLY means, I think she finally got it. For those of you that don't know, it means when someone's heart stops or they become unable to breathe by themselves, they do not want anyone to revive them or place them on advanced life support. (vent) I can't make any sense from what Mom told me, but think that Debbie will have to stay in the hospital or go to a nursing home if she gets through this- she's still in serious condition. Still day to day.

It's good to hear that she's alert. I'll keep her in my prayers.

You guys are just AWESOME!!!

More good news- Mom called this morning & told me they have taken the breathing tube out & she has started eating. Apparently she started saying that she's been such a burden on everyone, they'd all be better off with her dead.

My mom's started going back to church in the last 4 or 5 months, & from what I understand, she thinks the world of her minister. He has been going in to see her almost every day. But the one who REALLY turned her thinking around was the minister that my mom had do the funeral service for my dad when he died. He's in his late 70s & is a tall, skinny, white haired old-time looking preacher with a long flowing white beard & he, while being theatrical as ALL hell, is the only person that I have ever heard read out of the bible as if he was just sitting around talking. He's also got an awesome sense of humor that he injects into everything he says & does, & had everybody laughing on & off at the funeral.

Now, people who know me KNOW that I AM NOT religious in any way shape or form, but good people are good people, & from what I hear from my mom, there are an AWEFUL lot of REALLY good people surrounding her & my bro & sister in law; just like there are on this site! All that good vibing for her is really doing the trick, so for praying or whatever you do- THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!

So you know who you're sending them to, here's a pic-
