View Full Version : Mmmmm... chewy
As I was sitting in the miserable heat with no electricity I decided to order lunch. As I chowed down on my salad I noticed a piece of plastic in it. The first thing that came to mind was "NEW POLL". Then I thought of how different people would react to it. What would you do under the given situation?
I'll tell you what I did in a bit.
I'd probably toss it and eat. It would depend on the place and my mood.

this is like when my mum, my sister and i were eating at a restuarant and my mum found a piece of glass in her salad...she told the waitress and we got the meal free.....we didnt think much of it and would have paid but hey....it was free....
i would complain if i found stuff that wasnt edible in my food
Toss it and eat it. Glass, on the other hand, I would bitch about. If she hadn't found that, it could have caused a lot of problems.

Oh my gosh!!! That's like having a long peice of hair that you get when eating and suddenly pull it out of your mouth..... I am gaging just thinking about it.. Me, I won't vote because you didn't have a trash can for me to gag into in front of the servers and customers...
* Redallnite wonders why she even read this......... "gag, choke, and throw the lunch up....."

Free dessert! Yippeee!
Toss and Eat. Like Boozer said though, if it was glass...nope, I'd bitch...you could have some serious health issues. And if it was hair...Oh HELL NO....they'd better give me everything for free!
I remember when I was little me and my grandparents were eating at a nice resteraunt....my grandma found a piece of plastic in her eggs....and sued the place. I thought that was the dumbest thing. THey ended up going out of business becuase of it. Stupid.
Complain to management AND demand free food.
Plastic is not worth suing someone over. If it was something else, now...

I'd complain. Plastic, should NOT be in my food. A hair? Same thing. HOWEVER, if I'd found a shard of glass or something worse in my food...I'd sue their asses then.

I'd tell em about it.
Hair in food?

I can't eat something if I find MY hair in it
3 second rule is what I live by. Bugs don't eat much and if they get eaten, then it's just more protein. Inanimate objects don't eat anything. Move them to the side along with whatever they are touching and continue eating. You will find that they do not charge for extra materials, insects or vermin in your food. Human body parts are all together different. You may be charged for fingers and toes. Other parts are usually free.

I look at it this way. While there are some things which - if I see - will cause me NOT to eat my food, there are a great many things which happen to it at some point which I don't see and which don't end up hurting me. I mean, why is a piece of plastic in your cooked food so much different than the plastic your milk is in? or the plastic wrapped around your loaf of bread?
3 second rule is good. :)

While I agree that it's nothing to get TOO terribly bent outta shape about, I DEFINITELY think the manager needs to hear about it. If it's a sharp/hard piece of plastic, it could lodge in someone's throat or cut it- and I would think that the restaurant would want to know to check the rest of the food so someone wouldn't be harmed by other pieces that might be in THEIR food. Besides, watching someone choke to death at dinner isn't something I'd want to do.

I guess living in the back woods we're slow, we always called it the 10 second rule. It falls pick it up and blow before it is going into your mouth.

If you got a free meal if you found plastic or glass in your meal then wouldn't people just put a peice of plastic or glass into their meal? Complain and get a free meal.

Welcome to NCT, Grr. :D If you want I can add that "L" on the end.
Before anyone tries looking for glass I'd think about the chili finger woman. They test to see if it really came from them and companies are starting to fight back. People who did this before are likely to find themselves behind bars or paying the restaurants for scamming.

heh, I do that, but it's more like the minute rule. Diva freaks out, I shrug and eat whatever it is.

I've done it before, sadly enough, but with hair. :/

I never can complain about hair in food. Usually I have the longest hair in the room...
