Hi gang. As I'm sure you have noticed I have not been here as much this past week. I've been dealing with some personal issues as well as trying to update the board on my own.

I would like to be able to come on here without seeing people bickering. I accept the fact that not everyone will get along perfect, but that's what the Ignore list is for. I am hoping that any unpleasant thoughts will pass and we can all get along without having to use it.

The one thing that I have loved about NCT is that there wasnt the nastiness which other boards have had. Yesterday I saw shit that made me want to shut this place down. No personal insults. EVERYONE has a right to post on this board without being harassed. And no cross thread bickering. For fucks sake, we are supposed to be adults here.

If there is a post that concerns you please click on the Report Post button. It is confidencial and you can state your concerns. It's the best way to make sure I see it.

I am asking for everyone to help me this week so that I can feel less worried. Thanks, gang.

I hope everyone respects the fact that Diva has given us this board out of the kindness of her heart and act appropriately.

While I held back on responding to some of the threads, which is a shame because they were very good ones, I think that respecting each other and not being nasty is a small thing to ask. Everyone has their own opinion and should be respected.

As one who has been know to rile the worst in people for his post. I take pride in knowing the I have improved and try to watch what I say to not offend anyone. I agree to disagree with anyone with a different opinion. I do ignore those who seem to not grasp the concept of not everyone thinks the same way.

I enjoy this forum as it has had my attendence longer than any other board. Diva and I have butted heads over topics and I accepted her opinions. She has the best interest for everyone here in mind whilst providing a convienent area to vent for anyone.

If anyone offends you, that is what private messages is for. Take it there and iron out your differences. Get Diva involved if you can't be adults about it.

I agree with you! I also know that I am very blunt & am not always able to word things in ways that they may be taken by the reader the way they were meant, so if you are ever in doubt, PLEASE ask me "whaddya mean by THAT?" before you get upset.

While I do come off pretty opinionated, I DO LOVE a discussion & will really get into intelligent conversation, so feel free. I have observed SUCH intelligence displayed on this site (as I've said before) that I am constantly amazed.

One thing we ALL have to keep in mind is that we can't see the person that writes the message to judge meanings through facial expressions, so that is a great disadvantage. We also have to keep in mind that we are all emotional animals (some of us more than others) & I know from personal experience that something that won't bother me one day will REALLY piss me off the next. I try to remember that other peoples' heads are in other places than mine. Different life experiences make us different people. I'm usually able to write things out when I'm pissy, then delete the bad stuff before sending it.

Just remember- keep smiling- it makes everybody wonder what you're up to!:)

Now when you say "REDNECK", some people are thrown into a tissy fit. They associate that term with racist southerners with anti-social skills. They don't know about fourwheel drives, muddin on Saturday night or even the Friday night ho-down at old man Perterson's barn. We are just fun loving people in general who enjoy life with all of it's simplicity.

Well, I do not have a red neck. I have red hair, I think the girl that cuts it is trying to make it blonde, go figure.... Now I have an Uncle that was in the clan way back in the 40's. He now knows the error of his ways...... Yeah, Right!! My daddy's family lives in the depths of South Georgia.

Oh, oh, oh, I do have a four wheel drive. It's not the hummer that I dream about, it's just a trail blazer. I still like to frog gig, when given the opportunity, I will stab the best of them. Oh and the ho-downs at the barn, they have to have that shine to really be able to kick up the heels......

Amen to what Miss Diva said. I know I've said this eleventy billion times, but NCT is a home to me. It's the only board I'm on and it's the only one I care to be on. I'm here because of the kindness, openess and the comfort everyone is willing to show eachother. Despite vastly different world views, we all manage to care about eachother and attempt to at the very minimum, understand where everyone is coming from. The important thing to remember is that we can express our differing opinions freely here, as long as we do it gently and are OPEN to discussion. Barraging people with personal insults or treating them as if their opinion is less valid than your own is not part of the gentle conversation Diva has worked VERY hard to enforce. Please respect the wishes of a woman who gives herself to this board, to you guys. She's an amazing woman and deserves a great deal of respect.
