It's called privacy. Apparently on the web that's a hard thing to keep. People are publishing phone numbers, addresses, pictures, instant messenger numbers, etc... on numerous boards. I only got the instant messenger to talk to friends. Not get slammed with porn, and other obnoxious messages.

The web only offers anonymity to the stalkers and spammers. But for the rest of us, it's the only way to enjoy yourself on the web without constantly having to fend off unwanted characters. If I want someone to know me better, than I will let them know... in private.

I'll give you an example, Scranton. by the way, what is your full name? Anyway... You are walking down the street in a crowd. one by one, sometimes more, people turn to you with pen and peper in hand and start aking you for your name, telephone number, mail address, favorite sexual positions, what you like to eat, what your sexuality is, where you live, where you work, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, and so on. Are you going to tell them?
