The Lemelson-MIT Invention Index took a poll on the invention people most hate but cannot live without. I thought it would be interesting to do our own poll. Which one did you choose and why?

I hate the cell phone because it is distracting to both the user and anyone around them. But, I need it because it is the only way for people to get in touch with me.

I'm picking razors for obvious reasons. I hate them cuz I've cut myself numerous times over the years and shaving is very time consuming. HOWEVER, I can't go 2 days without shaving my legs...no way, no how. No hairy armpits either lol....

Alarm clocks. I hate the sound of them...absoultely despise them. I hear anything that remotely resembles the buzz of my alarm and I am instantly pissed off. Blech. But I wouldn't wake up without the damn thing. Dammit.

After talking with Diva, I guess I'd have to say alarm clock. I don't have a cell phone, I don't watch much tv, and I can use scissors on my beard and 'stache, but without an alarm clock, I'd sleep all damned day.

I've broken so many of them trying to get them to STOP F*CKING BEEPING OR BUZZING!!!!!!!! I do it without even thinking, just kinda reach up and smash them with my fist. *shrugs*

mine isn't on the list. I don't use any of those things, so really they can go away and I wouldn't notice. I'd have to say prophylatics. no?

probably just me then.....

Damn alarm clock. I hate it so much, but I would not be at work without it. I mean I got it set on "radio" so it wakes me up with good music - but it's still 6 am.

Cell leash,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,argh! My alarm clock is just a back up, I set it but wake up a minute or two before it goes off! Television gives me a variety of news, although who do you trust these days??? Razors are a pain but they contribute to the morning ritual. Ah the ole _ _ _ _ shower and a shave!

Without the alarm clock you trust yuor body to wake yuo up and you'd never be late. Having alarm clocks means you're expected to go to work early if you work early

Alarm clock, 100%. I hate the darn thing every morning, but I would never make it on time to work/school without it.

I hate TV's but can live without them. I can't live w/out a cell phone, but I don't hate it. I have no problem with razors.
