For anyone who hasn't seen Lost In Space:

With the Earth running short of natural energy resources the Jupiter mission to colonize and exploit Alpha Prime seems to be the only chance of survival. Professor Robinson, his family and fighter pilot lead a desperate attempt to create a Hyper-Gate in orbit around the planet Alpha Prime to enable the rescue of Earth to begin. They will be gone 10 years. Foes sabotage the Jupiter 2. To escape the gravitational pull of the sun the Hyper-Drive is fired and the Jupiter 2, after a trip through hyperspace, emerges into a completely unknown part of the galaxy. A search of the star charts reveals that they are completely lost in an uncharted sector of space...

What if you were offered a seat on the ship to help build 'the new Earth'? You would never see anyone on Earth again. No more mountains or oceans. Would you do it? Why or why not?

Nope. Because I like my Earth way too much. As much as people treat it like shit, pollute it, and destroy each other, I still like it here. I guess it's the whole idea of stability.

Now if I could take my girlfriend into space with me, that'd be an entirely different story. Zero-gravity sex? Indeed. :p

<i>"Sometimes I get this feeling that I won't be on this planet for very long. I kinda like it here, I'm quite attached to it - I hope I'm wrong"</i>

No way... I love my mother earth and I wouldn't leave it for some unknown...maybe after the settlement has Walmarts* and what not I'll go.....

Nope. Can't imagine not being able to hunt and fish, go camping, etc. Plus, I'd miss my family and friends too much. I'd like to go out and see space, but I'd also want to come back.

When I was away in Texas my mind kept wondering to you guys. I wondered how you were, what was happening in your lives and hoping all was well. I can't imagine being without JakeD, so I'd stay put. I would never make the trip without a computer. :whome:

I can't imagine not seeing mountains, trees, animals and the ocean ever again.

I have no real ties on earth, it'd be an adventure -- why not?

Kick-ass! There have been times in my life when I would have said the same thing. I think that if I could take my cats and JakeD that I'd be right beside you. Those are my only ties.

We can always grow plants. :)

We could just send George Bush, Dick Cheney, Gov. Schwarzenegger, that chick from the last American Idol, Jordan, and Paris Hilton.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE WHITE HOUSE
"NASA has lost interest contact with those on the Bush-planned Mars expedition. All further attempts to colonize Mars have been deemed "really freaking stupid" and have been abolished under the decision of the new President, JakeD."
