Every year we have a holiday that we dread. Either it's the in-laws or lack of a relationship that makes this 'joyous' time as delightful as masterbating with a cheese grater. Which one do you dread the most and why?

Out of them all, I'd have to say Valentines Day. Being single is hard enough on Christmas and New Years, but V-Day is meant for couples, and I just really hate it. Depresses the hell outta me.

I was going to say that from now on Valentine's day is the day I was honoured with the most amazing of gifts or successes. In other words it's the day I got the right to drive by myself. The other purpose of Valentine's days is a minor detail.

Valentines Day is a bullshit holiday made up by the greeting card companies. I think I hate Valentines Day because it makes people think they need to have that special someone.

Christmas/Thanksgiving is the pair I hate beyond words can say, tis always a pleasure to be reminded -- continually by my delightful family- of my inadequacies -- I didn't go to the right college -- I didn't go to law school -- I am not married -- I don't have kids - blah blah blah -

Next year - I am going to the islands - -blissfully alone...

V-Day. Sucks when you don't have someone, and when you do, it sucks because there's too much pressure to get/do/say the right thing. I usually end or start relationships right around that time of year.

Actually its a celebration (shudders) of someones death....St. Valentine...who i think performed marriges for ppl in the prison so they werent commiting fornication....something like that....im not sure on the details....i celebrate it by wearing black...unless i have a boyfriend...then its just another day

Christmas. It sucks. Money's tight, people turn into spastic assholes at whichever store you attend, people expect things, everyone's all sweet and cheery until it's over and then it's back to treating each other like shit...All holidays suck, but for me, Christmas is the worst.

V-Day is a close second because it gives all the dickheads(male and female) who don't do anything romantic for their significant other on the other 364 days of the year a whole day of saving grace. How disgusting. If you didn't buy her flowers, treat her to a nice dinner, a bottle of wine, and a romantic evening in the bedroom before, don't make such a big fucking deal out of it on the day that it supposedly "counts".

I love every holiday!!!! This year thou, I have cried like a baby... I sure hope by now you know I lost my momma to cancer this past July. Everyone tells you the "firsts" are hard., Hell it's awful... I guess Christmas was really bad, my Gran Gran died on Christmas Eve. We all knew she would die on a holiday but dang I was hoping maybe New Years Day.... My Gran Gran was 94. (She lived a wonderful life)Her Family......... She was born on the 4th of July, married on Halloween so it was expected that she die on a holiday, but Christmas Eve dang..... Momma loved Christmas so much and with Gran Gran dying it took every ounce I had to make sure Daddy was with me the whole day... I didn't shed a tear or loose it once, at least not in front of daddy. My poor B, he can truly tell a tale.... I kinda whine at times but please be patience with me I might get my "wind" sooner or later........
