View Full Version : My introducing
Hey, I'm Maro from Poland. I'm 30 years old. I work at ceramics factory as a production co-ordinator. Don't get me wrong but I enjoy my job (but I'm not a "workaholic"...). I hope I have some sense of humour. What I like is: movies (my favourite is Big Lebowski by Cohen Brothers), music (Living Colour, Tool, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Clapton, Pink Floyd ...) and sex especially with my girlfriend (ha ha ha).
The rest you will know later... if you only want to.
Maro
Yay!!! Hey Maro, good to see you posting, man. There's nothing wrong with liking your job. I feel the same way about mine... It's my boss that's a pain in the arse... Welcome to the boards. I know you'll have a great time. There are some wonderful people to meet and chat with and the conversation never ends up like it started. *Cough* Hero's thread *Cough*.
If you need anything, you know that Aussie and I are here to help. Enjoy!

Welcome, Maro: the Polish have a great reputation for bonhomie, and you look like an intelligent sort; the Cohen brothers are spectacular collaborators, I agree. I'm doubly pleased that you're here, in fact, because it gives me a chance to dust down my personal copy of 1001 Lech Walesa Jokes (now out of print in the UK) and deploy them to my heart's content in the service of long-dead-and-never-remotely-funny-even-when-they-were-living political satire.

Hiya Maro!!!
You will have a great time here! I look forward to reading your posts. If you have any recipes for kapusta or pyrogi's I would love to have them! I know, I know, its all in how you make the dough.

Hey Usantic, the funny thing is that my surname is kapusta (yes, it is cabbage in english). There is no problem at all to send you some recopies for polish food. I just have to find it somewhere because I'm not the best cook...
I'm very interested how did you find that food and where?
And thank you very much for your response.
Maro

More than likely, Ozblonde - there were a large number of Free Polish pilots flying planes for the RAF after the absorption of Poland by the Wehrmacht in '39, so your grandmother may have been stationed in the south with her family.

to answer your question about my knowledge of Polish dishes Maro let me give that credit to my wife's father's side of the family.
When we visit them for Christmas, we'll have pyrogi's that just melt in your mouth. I was unaware that kapusta meant cabbage.
They use that term to refer to a dish that has cabbage, split peas, bacon, and sausage blended into a sort of porridge. Its delicious but we have to stay outdoors later in the day. ;) I would greatly appreciate any recipies that you might offer.
