It's really simple... who does it? Do you pay to go to a salon? The 100 yr old barber that cut your grandpa's hair as a child? Your sister or do you do the old cut-n-pray method yourself?

Barber. Men only go to barbers. Unless they're a fancy-pants. (LOL)

I don't go to a barber. Malous takes care of mine, and she kicks ass.

Well, I go to a salon to get mine done, but she's a friend of a friend ;) Can you say, DISCOUNT?

I'm SO cheap in this department...I trim my split ends myself until I HAVE to get it cut. Then I go to a beauty school and get a great cut for $7. I dye it myself...and yeah. It's all good. Currently it's shoulder length with lots of layers and it's auburn.

i dye it myself, do it up myself (except on special occasions like grad then i go to a salon) and i cut it myself if i cut it at all...im growing mine out (i know you should get it cut every like 6 weeks or whenever but i dont get split ends and if i dont like a piece of hair i will cut it and when i get bored i trim it with a razorcut thing and then it looks fine and i dont get pissed at it when i cut it because i know its my fault so whats tha point)

Boozer, I believe the term is "Metrosexual!" :D I admit to being one, but I also am cheap, and very particular, so I give myself haircuts every 2 weeks or so. I use clippers. A 4 on the top and a 1 all around.

The product I use in it is called pomade. The ladies love it. Ever since I started using it in the year 2000, my life has changed.

Also, hasn't this poll question already been done?

Last time I went to a salon my neck was cut, so is the extra cost going into their sadomasichistic methods?

I try to get to a salon every 8 weeks just to get the ends trimmed. I haven't had a hair cut in 15 years! You'll see what I mean if you check out my pics in the gallery ;)

I tried trimming my hair myself a few years ago and it was a disaster. I cut it on an angle the first try and then kept cutting on an angle trying to fix it. In the end I had to go to a salon to get it straightened out and in the end had about 5 inches cut off instead of the originally intended 1 inch :o

I updated the pole for you, ML. :D

I do cut my ends at times... but I like to go to my friends' salon more.

Thank you Diva :)

My sister does mine for me, mainly cause I not too bother what my hair looks like as long as its short :) It goes so so so curly if it gets too long, and I hate it so much, not to mention it gets a bit annoying around the ears.

Like all mumma's boys, my mum does mine.

I cut my own hair for years, until I was "convinced" I should let a professional do it. For some reason, my girlfriend doesn't like my "hack at it until I'm finished" method, although I never got anything but favorable comments about it.

Now I go to the "cool" salon up the street. Sure, it costs more, but I never get a bad haircut. My gf always suggests I go to Supercuts when I'm waiting for $$$ to get a haircut. I point out that everytime *she* goes to Supercuts, she wears her hair up for a week, after crying about the cut for a few hours. I'll wait, thank you.

And you can call me a fancy-pants if you want. I'd rather get my hair cut by a smokin' hot young lady than some bald old man anyday :)

I went to Supercuts once and cried all the way home. I asked for my bangs to be right above my eyebrows, this twit cut them to the middle of my forhead. Add some curl and it was to the top. *shudders*

I think you're overlooking some of the advantages of going to a salon...

My hair designer looks like a living breathing Barbie doll. She's tall, blonde, and has fantastic tits. Which get waved in my face while she's working on my fringe :)

Get a girlfriend, then you're allowed to touch them, not just look!

I pay someone but I use those clippers on my husband. He is so cheap. He gets the burr cut... It seems that a man looks good with a cheap cut......

I color mine myself...hehe I'm too cheap to actually get it done. Through trial and error, I somehow get it right eventually :)
