View Full Version : In Honor Of Kitty
This week's poll is dedicated to our favorite feline, kittyroze. If you haven't reached 21, vote on what you plan on doing to celebrate that very important day.
It's importance isn't the drinking or the gambling... It marks the end of restrictions and officially recognizes you as an 'adult'.

Hell, Diva...when I turn 21, I'm gonna go to about 10 different bars (with a DD, don't worry :)) and I'm gonna flash my driver's license to show it's my birthday, and get me a different mixed drink where ever I go, just because I CAN. Thank GOD I have a decent alcohol tolerance...hehe BUT...
I'll sadly and gladly welcome my adulthood and say goodbye to my childhood--even though I won't really grow up

Like usual I will have a huge party/night on the town and get wrecked for the hell of it... 21 isn't as big up here as it is in the US seeing as how we can drink legally from the age of 18/19 depending on the province.
I actually only had one drink on my 21st birthday. Very quietly, by myself. All my friends that I hung out with were living in other states at the time, including my brother. That weekend I got a 12 pack and got fit-shaced though.
My 21st was on a Sunday, during Finals Week at UMass. Needless to say, it wasn't very exciting. Just a couple of us at Amherst Brewing Company.
The next weekend, however, I ended up hooking up with a girl from Cape Cod at a party. Afterwards, she said, "Happy Birthday."
Welcome to NCT, gharm. What did you major in at UMass?
Hi, JakeD. I majored in computer science. Was laid off from my first job in May. Still looking for new work.

I actually didn't do anything for my 21st.
Just had a drink with people at work, my boss bought some champagne and we all had a glass, and I got a little joint present from everyone.

In Ontario the drinking age is 19. I turned 19 on a Thursday my first year in University. It was only one month into the school year so I only had a handful of friends at that point. As it turned out most people had exams the next day. So I did what I could.
I was standing at the door to the liquor store before it even opened. I went in and bought a bottle of Jack Daniels. That night a friend and I went to a near by playground and drank that JD while swinging on the swings. It was great because him and I got a chance to get to know each other that night. With the alcohol flowing and no distractions around it was a great conversation!

I'm not sure, but I may go out to dinner tonight with a friend or few and have a few mixed drinks...I'm really looking forward to a mudslide!

well, here, adultism is 18...but 21 is still special it harks back to an ye olde englishe thinge of "Getting the key to the door" even though I've been a latchkey kid...since ever.
I got lucky...a few times on my 21st.

Welcome to NCT, Gharm. :D Sorry to hear about your job. I hope you find one soon.
It's funny how by the time that special day hits, it's not the getting smashed that matters. Really. it's the idea that you can legally buy a drink, go into 21and over dance clubs and gamble. Most people I know didn't over indulve on their 21st (18/19 in other countries). My 20th, on the other hand, was a blur only told by pictures... LOTS of embarassing pictures.
Well, let's see 'em. Come on, we're all friends here!!!

when i turned 21 my future wife took me to the bars where she knew the bouncers and bar keeps, and got me free drinks at like 4 clubs. now weve been married 13 1/2 yrs, and uhmm...........
My twenty first b'day I was in Fort Collins Colorado. I was working for Kenworth in Greeley. My bud had asked every girl in the bar to give me a kiss for my b'day.
Hooked up with a lady, took her to my place, (35+ miles). Woke up, had no money. We played poker in my living room in the morning. I won four whole dollars from her. I was able to buy gas and take her home.
She turned out to be a good friend for some time after that.

I worked....... 21 was nothing then, it was 18. That is when you were legal to drink, piss or vote.

well i see im in the majority here. i turned 21 when there were still bars that if you were tall enough to put your money up they would serve you, so it was no big deal, in fact i mentioned to the bar owner "congratulate me Mike" he says why did you finally turn 21. i thought that was ironic, since i drank there since i was sixteen
