Traffic Jam From From Hell

Yahoo: 60,000 Germans trapped in massive traffic jam, forced to sleep in cars Like I said on my front page... If I were there it would be 59,999... Because I WOULD GO HOME. Why would someone get on a freeway knowing there was a traffic jam? I know it's the holidays... But I can't see going into a situation where you may not even get there. Would you? Have you?

Yeah, I know what you mean Diva. This reminds me of a while back, I was travelling with my bf at the time here in CA. We were coming home from being up in Northern CA. A train derailed and stopped up traffic for MILES. We were sitting on the freeway, absolutely trapped in the middle of nowhere with all these other people. 3 and 4 hours passed, and finally police began to direct us on a "detour". This "detour" consisted of taking traffic from a 5 lane freeway, and funneling it through the mountains on a two way "highway". I wanted to find a place to stay instead of sitting there forever, but my bf was being stubborn. He insisted on continuing the act of sitting in the car waiting for that two inches we could roll forward every hour.
