There are several things that I thing people should know right off the top of their heads. I'll put a little list here - but feel free to add to it.
The Current Leader Of Your Country (Prime Minister, President, etc)
The Leader Of The Opposition (Or the other major party who is not in power)
The Words to your national anthem
The capital city of one other country
Your height / weight and age
Your mother's maiden name
How to cook one good meal
The victor(team) of the major sporting trophy / pennet / cup

For Americans-Social Security Number.

Everyone-Home phone number, the number of a friend or family
-A bit of history.
-At least three or four phrases in a foreign language
-Basic accounting/math

Of course there's more, but I'll add them later.

it's those circular things in the middle of a road, common in England, it's also found in Paris and in Europe. I'll get some pics later today so you'll know.

My gf has the same problem, she thinks that those crazy 4-way stops you have in the US work better than a roundabout...

Jug handles are way more of a challenge than roundabout/rotaries/traffic circles are...

I think it's a phenom known only in New Jersey -- in order to make a left hand turn -- you have to be in the far right lane -- turn into the jug handle and at that point it gets you the left turn.

Keeps traffic moving - but its frustrating cause ya never know where the jug handles are going to be - makes it tough to commit to a lane when you want to make that elusive left turn -- do I get in the right lane or left lane.

(and people think Californians are weird!)

Ahh, Hook Turns - to my knowledge there are only 2 in this country and they both reside in Melbourne....weirdos.
