View Full Version : Trying New Things
We all get into a routine. Normalcy and familiar territories rule our lives, for the most part. Let's shake it up a bit, shall we?
1.) What sport would you like to learn?
2.) Musical instrument
3.) Hobby
4.) What would you change about your look?
5.) Live somewhere else... Where?
6.) Add something else you would change.
You don't have to answer every one. Just the ones that you are willing to try!

(1) Long-distance running. I normally hate exercize, but I got dragooned into going on a 5-mile run recently, and - to my shock -actually felt an immediate improvement in my health afterwards.
(2) The Mandolin. It's the only musical instrument my father plays that I actually like...
(3) Yahtzee. I've never actually found it remotely interesting, but I remember the adverts from the 1980s, in which glamorous people played it on the Orient Express. I've never quite understood the appeal of throwing dice around on a tiny, cramped, miserable-looking board, but it's a small price to pay for a life of cosmopolitan glamour and sybaritic pleasure.

(4) I'd like to look reasonably healthy, like everyone else I meet, and rather less like Lovecraft's "Evil Clergyman"...
(5) New England: Maine. Failing that, either southern France or somewhere near the Rhine.
(6) I'd quite like a proper job. This seems reasonable, but none of my interviewers ever seem to agree, strangely...
1. If you mean learning about so I know all the rules but not participating? Then Ice Hockey. I guess this doesn't really count though...since I already like watching guys skate around and piss each other off like a bunch of girls fighting over a pair of shoes at a clearance sale. I guess it would be good if I knew what the rules are supposed to be, but then the frivolous beatings wouldn't be as frivolous and hence the fun would evaporate....*sigh*
2. 12 string guitar.
3. Chasing Roach.
4. Not to be a typical whiney girl...but my legs are far too long. My 501s are 28/34. I can't find anything else that is long enough and still fits my waist. I have to buy big and have things altered down. This is a giant pain.
5. Hmmm, I have not been enough places to make a wise decision on this one...so I'll go with the fun decision...XXXX TD, Arizona....(that's from memory...so it might be a bit inaccurate - but I think he will recognize it all the same...HA HA HA HA).
6. I'd make smoking healthy. I miss it...

1) Definately curling: I never understood the whole game.
2) The Oboe: its the olny kind of instrument I have never tried (being double reed I mean)
3) Snowboarding: This is more of a wish, I tried it once but my feet hung over the edge of the board so I couldn't.
4) my hair: I wish it was a little more tameable, I ususally just buzz it or wear a hat.
5) I'd like to live in Japan for a little while: because I think it's the most opposite country from the US.
6) I wish they made less expensive cars that fit taller people: Right now I drive an S-10 and my knees nearly hit the dash.

Sports? I'll stick with fishing if that is a sport.
Instrument- I play piano a little, so I guess I would just practice more and teach myself better music than the stuff I learned when I was 10.
A hobby, I would like to learn Yoga and get real flexible and be able to hold balancing poses...
My look, I need an update on the hairdo...I'm stuck in the 80's look.
I wouldn't mind living on the beach somewhere...Probably FA.
I would like to learn a new language, photography, self defense, swim laps(sport) daily, gardening, and maybe oil painting.

4) I'm with Amaroute on this one. I would like to gain a little weight while I'm at it as well, since I'm quite tired of folks assuming I'm related to skeletor of he-man fame.
5) The Far East, I would love to spend my time traveling from Singapore to Minsk with only my trusty Donkey sidekick to carry my warez. err.. maybe change the Donkey to a Lexus just for kicks.
6) I would be Bill Gates trusted Son, and heir to the throne. :D
