Whats your favorite sport? A mans game like rugby or gridiron or a gentle ladies game like scoccer or basketball?
Hockey is the only real mans game... pucks flying at over 100mph, people smashing through the boards, fighting... it kicks ass...

Actually its football (soccer).
Zaphros
Killing Australians with wire wool.
My favorite sport would be Hockey. Football comes in a close second, though.

Hockey fucking rules!!
you fuckin' bitches!! NOT ONE OF YOU mentioned lacross. that bitch is like hockey, rugby, and american football combined. you ignorant loads of rhinoceros pizzle! what were you thinking?! lacrosse is a sport with balls. fuck that, EXTRA balls. and before you start exonerating the skill required to skate (for hockey), remember that lacrosse shares NONE of its aspects with a sport so manly as figure skating.
Oh wait... At first I thought you said 'Lactate'. Hmmmmm. We'll take this in another direction... What the hell is Lactoss? And don't fuck with my Hockey, man!
how dare you?! a lacrosse player would take that stick and shove it up a hockey players ass ('cause he knows the they like it there anyway) then dirty sanchez his ass with it. that is, after he fucked his girl and made him watch.
Ducking shotgun blasts, because my friends dog is too old! I like to bird hunt with a shotgun in the sparse vegetation of southern Arizona. I use a PSE, or Hoyt bow for deer, javelina, or bear. (State record for archery Javelina in '95, Arizona, JW Hamilton). I reckon a fine sport would be excelling in my career field! Never going to be wealthy, but, going to work in the desert aint so bad!
So, I drifted away. My favorite sport is one where I can kill up close and impersonal. But, my bowling is OK, and I love my grandchildren. Ohh, damn!! Now I remember why we bought the Hoover! I need to go clean the floor and hug my babies!!

"Sport"? No, I'm sorry, Aussie: you've completely lost me with that one. I can see your lips moving but it's as if I've gone completely deaf. It can't be a real word, surely - unless it's a portmanteau term of some kind, like "twiglet". Still, you had me going there for a while. Nice one.
no amaurote it definatly isnt a portmanteau of any kind it is a fun kind of thing. possibly something the english wouldnt understand. Come to australia some time and we will teach you all about some classic australian sports like cricket and rugby. Things we invented our selves.

This last post of Aussie's stimulated my intellectual curiosity, so I took the liberty of consulting an etymological dictionary. It was most interesting: it appears that the word "sport" is Teutonic in origin, and probably first entered the English language via the migration of the Saxons and Jutes in 300 AD. It's apparently a compound word in origin, deriving from the High German noun "spo", (now "schmerzen"), "pain", and the Low German adverbial phrase "erat" (now "unmenge"), or "a lot of fucking needless".
This all sounds great, but I think I'll be sticking to beer and long walks all the same.
i revise my earlier opinion. Rugby is my new favorite. By FAR. lacrosse is still cool, but at a distant second. and hockey is alright i guess. somewhere after basketball but just before world championship aerobics.
Professional wrestling. Don't laugh, its a sport damnit.
I did used to play football (soccer for all you foreigners) and rugby but i despise physical activity now and I'm addicted to cathode rays whic means I can't leave my computer for more than hour without withdrawal symptoms.
I can remeber when I used to watch American Football as well, i was a Miami Dolphins fan though
hey anton, i ain't laughin'. pro wrestlin' is awesome. although a difficult physical activity, it doesn't qualify as a sport. much like golf.
*choke slams Anton*
and that was on the hard concrete surface outside the ring as well.
Do you ever notice how with wrestling comentators its always a Hard concrete surface? Am I missing something here? Do they have soft concrete surfaces in some places?
*shrugs*
aussie, it's for emphasis! golly. the excess of words are to help paint of picture of the pain the wrestler is (allegedly) going through. to disparage their style is to desecrate the thing as a whole. speak not poorly of prowrestling and its goings on or i'll send cactus jack to challenge you to a barbed-wire match. he'll teach ya' ALL about that soft/hard concrete floor bootsey!

Wrestling is highly entertaining, Anton, but it isn't a real sport, like, say, Women's Beach Volleyball.

This is wrestling girl we dont have number cards here!!
heres a little something for trying anyway

Silly me! Sport that involves men getting all sweaty and hugging each other to death = no number cards. Sport that involves men beating the living shit out of each other with colored gloveage = number cards. ;)
Hey aussie, do you want the .25 that will be left over when I buy back my dignity? :D

I think Stalin had the correct approach to sport: he saw a game of football between Dynamo Kiev and Spartak Moscow and promptly had the sponsor of the latter shot for counter-revolutionary behaviour. The manager was interned in a gulag for three years.
Let that be a lesson to everyone here, you nefarious lovers of this so-called "sport".

I love playing soccer and basketball, but can't really do either anymore.
I love going to Hockey and Baseball Games and the Olympics were really cool.
I'll watch most sports on TV, but mostly Hockey, Football, Basketball, Soccer, and Baseball. I love the Olympics
Play - basketball and soccer. I miss football, but would not play it to save my life. Fuck getting smashed up and my knees falling apart like they did for the short amount of time that I played in my youth.
Trying to stay consistent on basketball - playing every Friday with a gang of guys from work and having fun, although I missed out the last two times.
I've recently gotten back into weightlifting big time, and it's a blast, plus I'm more dedicated to pushing myself on it. Today I loaded up the Olympic bar with six plates and busted out some pretty hardcore squats. Still working on upping my depressingly low benchpress - aiming to get a 1000 lb. split on squats, bench, row, and deadlift, and also improve some bodyweight exercises like chin-ups, dips, and pull-ups. Looking into picking up New Rules of Lifting to get some different training regimens, but right now I'm working off of my own push/pull/lower body routine. Mostly compound lifts with a tiny bit of isolation exercises here and there, three times a week, with two days of cardio (high intensity interval training on rowing machine/elliptical/sprints) sprinkled therein. That coupled with an increase in protein (roughly 1 gram per pound of bodyweight) and a glut of fish oil caplets (six-eight a day) are all working in my favor, and I'm already starting to lose fat while packing on muscle. I'm basically doing the best I can to eat as clean as possible, cut carbs, eat more (clean diet, of course) and just lift heavy shit. So far, it's working wonderfully.
Once I get built back up, I'd love to get into Olympic lifting. I miss power cleans and all that shit.
Watching? Hockey, football, drag/rally racing(is that a sport?).
TV? Usually hockey, football, soccer. Especially that goddamn Copa Mundial.
what sport do you like to play?
Frisbee
what do you like to watch "in person"?
Billiards and boxing.
