This remonds me of a similar Aesop-style storyette:

There was once a plucky youg bluejay who refused to flay south for the winter, "Come, come" all the others would say, but this young bluejay refused. Finally the day came and all the other bluejays flew away, leaving that plucky one behind.

Well the winter came and boy it was a cold one, and soon enough, the bluejay realised that he was wrong and flew off. But the cold snaps bit at his wings and the froze over about three kilometers later and the bluejay fell.

He fell and fell and fell until PLOP! He landed in a pile of cow dung and blacked out.

Well lucky for this bluejay, the dung was fresh and warm and not only brought the plucky bird around but unfroze his little wings. Infact, it really picked up his spirits, it was so warm and lovely that he began singing!

Well, the barnyard cat heard all this and sure, enough came along and found the plucky bluejay and ate him right up.

So what are the morals of this tale?

1. Sometimes, it's best to take the advice of your elders.
2. Falling in shit isn't the worst thing in the world.
3. If you're happy and warm in a pile of shit, keep your mouth shut.
