MTV Sucks

While surfing for links I came across this news bit:

MTV is too prudish for Christina Aguilera's latest video. The pop tart teamed up with shutterbug David La Chappelle to shoot "Can't Keep Us Down," and the result outdid even "Dirrty" in terms of bared flesh, leading the cable channel to order La Chappelle to tone it down. It was particularly offended by a scene in which Aguilera plays suggestively with a water hose.

This is such bullshit. I went to her site and checked out the video (http://www.christinaaguilera.com/home.html). If rockers can wear ball hugging spandex and gyrate to the beat then she can hose down some testosterone dripping males. I've never been a huge fan of hers, but this song is actually kinda good. She should have drop kicked Lil Kim at the door, though. I know this sounds like some militant feminism shit, but MTV is pulling the boys club strings in my opinion. If a guy did it, then you'd be watching it daily on MTV. How fucking ironic that the song is about quality with the sexes. I hate TV.

found that the clip has been broadcast on mtv europe, so it's just the American MTV worrying to much about it's viewer's parent's complaints.

Shouldn't mtv be given free reign on what they're broadcasting, after all it's about music and the culture of the youth... shouldn't it reflect that?

I just saw a news report on the Christina Aguilera/Justin Timberlake show here in Memphis. The tickets were $62.50!!! WTH is up with that? Good thing my daughter didn't know about it, there's no way I'm spending $150 to take her to some stupid concert.

Now, maybe if she was getting nekkid, it'd be worth $62, but not just to hear her sing. I can pay $15 & get a CD for that.

Tickets are getting outrageous...however there's still quite a few good deals out there. I had the chance to go to WolfDance 2003 in Fort Worth, but I missed it. The Wolf is a Dallas/Fort Worth country station that plays an excellent variety of music. They had a bill of about 12 various country artists, and I could have gotten tickets for $10 a pop...tickets to see Pearl Jam and Idlewild this year ran $50, but that was through Ticketmaster, and was the cheapest we could get....
