It's a hot day and a friend suggests going for a swim. They leave the decision of where to you. Which one would you choose and why?
Friends' pool. I prefer pools over beaches, although public pools frighten me. I don't like the idea of people doing god-knows-what in that water. Looking at some of my friends, though, I could probably say the same thing about their pools.

Mmm beach. I LOVE the smell of the ocean.
neither. I'd rather swim in a creek or pond.
I added the option. :p Why would you prefer that, Boozer?

went to a friend's pool party, went skinny dipping, so nice, was told she'd go topless so I used that as an excuse, no shame whatsoever. Summer's the best season because that's when we can wear very little and admire the human form (especially feminine ;).)
Yay! Another person that's down with the skinny-dipping.
No, no skinny-dipping. I've been ordered bt the supreme court not to be naked in public again after the "Great Riot of '98" here in town. Oh, it was terrible.
Any ways, I like streams and ponds better because of a few different reasons. 1) I can't swim, and streams usually aren't that deep, and ponds I usually just aly in the shallows anyway. 2) I'm shy about taking my shirt off in public because of this beer/junk food gut I've got hanging in my mid section. 3) I like nature.
Shame... shame... shame...

Oh what ever... I take it you have never been to Flordia. You think your little excuses like 1, 2 & 3... justifies squat. You ought to see the beached whales hanging around the beaches. My momma always told me to never go pass my knees (sharks according to her)... And last but not least "wear a tee shirts after a couple of hours being beached on the sand.
Being in a pond or creek you can't really see the bottom, damned if I run in to a God awful SNAKE

You know I love you when you're feisty.
Um, what's wrong with #3??? And I don't go deep enough where I can't see bottom, and we don't have the snake problem up here that you folks have down there.
LOL. The only lake that I get into is Lake Martin in Alabama. It is over 100 feet deep nearly everywhere except some shoreline. The water is clear and the only thing to fear is drowning or being hit by another boat.
Skinny Dipping. LOL. went once... yep the good boy did something naughty. LOL. never do it again. over population of fish in pond made them hungry... get my drift. OMG. that won't happen again
Boozer: I don't think there's anything wrong with your choices. I think Red's trying to say that the pool in a nice area is just as good as a pond to her. This is why I asked, because I knew we all had 'preferences'. I doubt you'd say no to jumping into someone's personal pool, right?
Desciple: Ummm... so are you saying the fish tried to eat your 'worm'?
worm, that's a small adage and I probably wouldn't use that word. LOL... snake, python, boa, eel or rod and reel. LOL... would be more appropiate.

Oh you silly, I was teasing you about not taking off your shirt because of your invested belly. As Barry use to say, Boys this is a 10,000 dollar belly. (Budwiser)
The pond thing, I use to swim all the time until a freaking water snake was right above me while I was underwater......
* Redallnite says the only good thing about a snake is a DEAD SNAKE!!!

Snakes are pretty good on the tootsies too -- lovely pair of snakeskin pumps -- or a matching handbag?
Snakes are cool!!!
I'd just rather swim/wade in a pond or stream. Don't have to worry about it being packed on a hot summer day, and, especially streams where the waters always moving, the water is usually cooler than the pools.
And to tell you the truth, I haven't been in a pool in someone's back yard in over 10 years. So, I guess I would say no to jumping in a personal pool in a backyard.

Jake D, yeah, I'll agree with you, Lake Martin is cool...but try going to Lake Wedowee, also in Alabama. I go there all the time, to Flat Rock Park. If you've never been there, it's this huge rock slab thing, where you can jump off of one side into a deep part of water (it's not high off the water, I mean, the water usually laps your toes at the drop off, it's just really deep to dive into) and if you keep going straight into the lake, there's this sandbar where you can walk out almost to the middle of the lake. I've had some really fun skinny dipping memories there... :)
