Do you remember when you started surfing the web? Was it a site someone sent you? Looking for information? What brought you over to personal web sites?

How did you find my site?

I started in January when I got my computer, one of the first sites I went to was www.steakandcheese.com, which I'd already seen at school. From there I moved on to stile project in an attempt to sate my thirst for the disturbing side of life that I don't get to see in my banal existence. From there I went to mono which was my home for many months.

That died so I drifted over to AKpCEP and now I am here as well because I got bored and decided to check out some sites Id only glanced at previously.

Most of my time on the net is spent flicking through various message boards, forums and music sites as well as my own (cheap plug, don't shout at me please).

It has to be said I probably spend too much time online because I find my boredom level increasing slightly every day but I'm too lazy to get a job or a new interest

I took a similar route to Anton, though NoChickTrix was recommended by Aussie. I admired Akpcep, but, despite the obvious talent of its programmer and staff, felt it was too ridden with factional conflict to function properly as a forum.

I started using the Internet in 1998, mainly as a booksearch mechanism for out-of-print books I needed on subjects like Michael Servetus, Menno Simons and the Gnostic Gospels. From the agencies I gravitated to sites like bibliofind, abe and bookfinder.com, which served my turn on a weekly basis. Aside from usenet, I hadn't even considered the value of community forums as an informational tool, until I stumbled across Monochromism via a link I've completely forgotten, possibly evildave.com. I was amazed by what I saw; a morbid front, and a spiritual centre.

The Internet didn't affect my social life; I didn't have one in the first place. In some senses it even improved it, because, in my current unemployed state of miserable, impotent stasis - which frustrates me endlessly - it enabled me to leech vicariously off the experiences of others more capable, more intelligent, more glamorous and interesting than myself. I'm a parasite, you see; your bodies are my harvest-time.

As for having a social life, yes; I have too much time on my hands. I need a job to have a social life. I haven't found one. Your bodies will be the substitute.

I hope this has put everyone's minds at rest.

I used to visit a site called snufblahblahblah it was a particularly low brow site filled with shit pic`s and links to sites filled with pop ups one day they posted a link to a site called monochromism.net a warm wonderful place filed with pixies and elves. I was instantly enthralled with this wondrous place and soon took my place with the pixies and elves. Life was grand. Then one day the sun went out on the fair land of mono and with heavy heart I trudged back to the foul waste land of snuffyadayada and the links to pop ups. It was about that time I discovered they had erected a forum of their own and it was administered by a fair princess. (at the time I thought she was an old crone) Life was fine again in time the sun returned to the land of mono and so did I. As I did so the princess threw stones at me and spat.
Life was again good in the land of the elves and pixies in time the princess and I again became friends. It was about that time that I became disenchanted with the land of pixies and elves untill one pixie in particular had some rather unpleasant things to say about small children and was supported by various other elves and pixies. I knew then my time was up and I had to move on it was no longer a place I wanted to be. The princess put away the stones, ceased to spit and built me a home here in the kingdom of the light. For this I remain eternally grateful

Ha ha ha. I came from the snuff Myester too, what are you on, and how did you become so enlightened??? Yeah, that board was pretty crazy. I'm glad we continued in a more adult fashion. Way more peace and harmony here. I think what led me to there when I first started surfing was going to shocking sites that were bizarre and twisted. And ended up here. Now, I'm kinda burnt out on shit pics and girls with literally everything up their puss. If it's funny, I'd still go for it.

I've heard Poor Jim called by many different sobriquets before, but never pixie. I tended to think of him as "Aussie's little Danish friend". Then again, I used to think that JFK and Lee Harvey Oswald were old drinking buddies from Junior High back in Wisconsin: I have a History degree, but only because I stole it from a drunken student's inside coat pocket in...1966? 1957? Was I born then? 1985, I'm sure of it. Then again, I may be wrong. In any event, I'm sure you see my point. If you don't, you damned well should: you're nearer to it than I am.

This (http://home.pacifier.com/~dkossy/dec.html), or a page very much like it, was the first thing I found on the internet (give or take a few tries at yahoo, which was actually good back then)

I think that the first webpage I ever saw was a saucy little number called "Cannot Find Server". I found it very informative; its a little rudimentary by modern standards, of course, but its still available for general download, so I'm told.

hmm I do recall I may have called Poor Jim by many different sobriquets (thank you dictionary.com) Some spring readily to mind its just a pity I cant readily spring a blade into his.
Oh well those were the heady days of cyber head kicking I miss them not. :)

I'm an old school geek, in terms of net culture. I was weened on a 1200bps modem and local bulletin board systems. When the internet started to become a consumer reality in 1994 with AOL, I hopped on board. It's always been a communication medium for me.

As far as finding nochicktrix, a long time friend of mine told me he was writing for AkpCEP, and I started checking it out, and eventually became a writer myself. Then, in an effort to hunt down Diva (after missing her at akpcep's chat room), I wound up here.

Most of my 'surfing' was for information. Then I came across a certain lady just starting her own website. You were using some free web space three your isp. ;) I remember that it took you hours to post 5 lines. You've come a long way, baby. :cheesy:

Hey! Welcome back! Hahahaha! My first 'fan' of my site. :kissy: Those were hell days. I had no idea what I was doing, and it showed!

I only started using the internet 3 years ago. For information, really. Then a friend sent me a link to a site with gore pictures. It made my stomach flip. From there I found links and would just go from there.

The first time I connected to the internet at home I was just wandering around the ISP's site, Supanet at the time, and spent a little while in their chatroom. From there people recommended sites, and one of these, like Anton, was steakandcheese. I followed links, found some entertainment on Vomitus Maximus.com (http://www.vomitus.com) and from there to Monochromism.net. As that began to decay, I relocated to Akpcep, as did a coupla others (as you might have seen above). That remains my home, and it was aussie who led me here.
