It's amazing what the difference in price is for a salon vs a barber shop hair cut.

I used to do it myself, but since I've grown it out I go to a barber here in town. The salons are too fricking expensive and the barber does just as good of a job, if not better.

i do it myself......whenever i get it cut anywhere else they cut it too short or crooked or something.....when i cut it myself it may suck a bit but i dont care cuz i did it.....and it usually turns out...plus im growing it out so i dont cut it really

Either my mom does it when I'm home...yeah, I know I know...or I go to the beauty college and get it done for $7. Cheap much?

I go to salon, you just get better results. Also, my current stylist is a totally hot blonde with a body like a Barbie doll :). I think I just like the salon environment, they treat you like royalty, bring you coffee, give you a massage with your hair wash, and generally make it a pleasant experience.

I did prefer the stylist I had in London, he was extremely cool, and very good (he did work for magazine covers, that kind of thing). I still go there whenever I'm back in London, because he does an amazing job - and he always fits me in, because I'm one of his old customers, plus he gets to tell everyone in the salon that I flew in from Seattle just to get my hair cut by him.

It is expensive, no doubt about that, but men's cuts are quite a bit cheaper than women's, and personally I think I get my money's worth when I plunk down my $60. After all, I'm getting 45 minutes of a professional's time.

I used to get my hair cut at Vidal Sassoon when my rich aunt would take me to get my hair done. They do a consultation, massage, and tons more...but it was far too expensive. I like my hair long, so the only thing I really need is a trim and a bit of simply layering. No reason to shell out $100, when I can spend $7. Coloring on the other hand is a different story. I spend $9 ;) to have my best friend take care of highlights :D
