So what do you think??? It is pretty whack, but I might need a kidney someday and my own would be the best and fuck dialysis. I'm kinda for it, but it is pretty unreal. Bush hole is definintly against it. I do not know right now. Any comments????

The idea of being able to create life terrifies me. What about personality traits? The possibilities for abuse and sinister creation are endless.

As far as creating organs... I know the heart ache of watching someone die as they wait for an appropriate match. Imagine not having to wait for someone to die so that another may live. We had a patient with liver disease that recieved a liver transplant... only to find that the organ was cancerous.

One more thought. As science finds more and more ways to preserve life we are tampering with the delicate balance of nature. Are we truly prepared to accept the consequences of our actions?

I agree. Maybe some things were just meant to be, but we were also given the knowledge to create things for other things that are meant to be. I guess, I'm 50/50 on this one for now. Until we see what happens with it.

The desire to create this type of clone from what I've gathered, is to produce stem cells. These same cells can be found and harvested in, (bleah), placentas. So why the need for these clones?
Open the door a crack and watch the flood. Bolt it I say. We need to find better medical technique down a different road than this one. I'm with Diva on this one, the opportunity for abuse is too great

If you clone some one for a spare heart or liver or what ever wouldn’t that clone then have the same genetic predisposition to the same disease?
Then once you harvest the required organ the clone dies. What do we call this? Is it murder?
If a man kills his own clone what do we call that Is it murder? If its murder then he has killed himself. Surly that must then be suicide. But he`s still alive so that will fall down in court as well.
Cloning raises a lot of questions I feel that need to be answered . For instance If a country has a John Rambo type soldier they can then clone battalions of them. Now once you remove the original nucleolus of that cell and add rambo`s then you have condemned that person to only one corse in life. They can never be more than a farm bred soldier. Once that happens then schooling will need drastic a overhaul after all why would rambo need a pass in English or Maths? All he has to do in life is shoot a gun his destiny is preordained. The computer geek will spend his time at school doing nothing but codes and shit. Wouldn’t every man want to be the teacher at the prostitute school Perhaps someone could even clone me a Stevie Nicks the possibilities are endless. Just imagine no more love triangles “here now you both can have him/her” It would settle marital disputes as well, just think Harry is to drunk or watching football on TV Mrs Harry can drag the clone out and dust him off. She`s happy and Harry still gets to go fishing and watch TV

Aussie, in my case they could make a new kidney and it has a 50/50 chance of being normal. If it's fucked, they could try again. I would hope they wouldn't create life just to take an organ, but if they could just take my DNA and create a kidney w/o disease I'd be more than grateful. There are alot of illnessess that are like mine, that are hereditary that might not end up with the same result. My real mom was a child of nine and one in nine got it. Then she had one child and I got it. So, I think if they did it, I could have a chance, later in life...If not, I don't know if I want to deal with all the BS of trying to live and just say goodbye. Remember, I just watched my best friend go thru Chemo for a year and be sick and ended up losing the battle. I don't know if I'm strong enough to want to go on that bad. She even told me once, It's not the quantity of life, but quality. She would've known first hand, what it feels like...I believe her.:(

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Dolly didn't really hold up too well. I believe it kicked off as a result of something the scientists that cloned her weren't expecting. We'll see more of this.

In terms of harvesting cloned organs for use in patients who need them, I'm not sure this is really such a good idea at all. Our population growth is already becoming a problem, do we really need to live longer? Why can't people accept the fact that they are dying and go off gracefully into that final good night. Sure, it would be humanitarian to ease their pain, if necessary. Assisted suicide should also be an option in cases that it's suitable.

However, I think we all need to face the facts. Somebody will create a complete human clone in the next five years, government sanctions or not. Science will not be stopped, no matter how often it should be.

Grief, Jennafer, that's terrible - and it demonstrates just how ambiguous and endlessly-faceted this issue is. I'm sorry to hear it, and I hope your improves, the sooner, the better.
