When Did Your Life Change?

At some point, we all have a defining moment. There is an event that molds us, forever changing that part. How we see things, how we react. What was yours? What did it change?

when i was about 16 (i don't remember exactly) i woke up and realized that no matter what i do, i'm only accountable to myself. what does that mean? i make or break my own destiny and can do anything to anyone at anytime and the only one whose opinion means anything is mine. that i define as complete self-realization. that morning my cereal tasted sweeter and it was whole grain no-flavor-havin' Cheerios.


i went to school and classes were interesting. i worked out after school and the weights weren't that heavy. i even put up a new personal record in weight that lasted 2 months. i hung out after school and flirting with girls as much easier. jokin' with friends was much easier. all-in-all, life as a whole changed for me and has only enhanced since. i wish it was a more specific experience in general, but it was so intense a realization it FELT like something different. like something happened to me or some shit, but it wasn't. my mind just opened a whole new portion to me and i could think totally differently than before. but enough of my useless pontifications...

I have a few. I changed at 13 and got all rebellious, starting the whole party scene. Then I changed at 17, doing the married thing and got a reality check on life and money and how the shit doesn't grow on trees, like my mom always told me. Another change at 22 when I went fucking nuts. Enough said about that shit. The last change was at 27, when I woke up and left an abusive MF and realized I could be alone and be happy as hell and didn't have to take any shit anymore. And so now All these different changes are coming together for the positive. I'm not rebelling. I've cut the partying way down. My crazy shit has calmed way down, and I found a nice man that treats better than I ever imagined. Wow.:cool:
