It’s morning. I’ve just woken, and I take my time to explore each of my senses. I slowly inhale, and receive the smell of morning, and bodies. Of a comforting warmth, homely. I hear the faint, distant chirping of birds, and a calm, rhythmic breathing. Finally, I open my eyes. This is the sight that sums up my life now. I see the face of love, the face of an angel, my lover, my angel. I never thought I’d find a state of mind that I could truly call happy, but what I feel now, it cant get better. You look peaceful, content in your dreams.

I lift away the few strands of hair that cover your face, and you stir slightly at my movement. You embody peace, what I see in your face, your expression despite being asleep, it shines, and glows of happiness. My face is about two or three inches from yours, and my left hand holds your right between us, my right hand resting on your knee. I feel your breath, light, regular, on my face. This is one of the thousand similar times through the day which I would love to stay like forever, yet each time it’s like the very first, you take my breath away.

The temptation, temptation to reach up and stroke your face, temptation to move that bit closer, and to kiss you. Temptation is what we have come to be, it’s all about what we desire most of all, to kiss you is to enrich my soul, to touch you is to satisfy my love. Yet, as with much of our relationship, we defy convention, as the temptation differs in that we can do what we love to, every time I want to feel your lips upon mine, I can have that, I am the luckiest man alive, and you are the most precious element of my life; the only one.

It must be early morning, as the sun suddenly rises up and streams through the window, outlining all I see. Again, you stir, and I think that you are waking up, but you don’t, and I lie still, absorbing both the life and energy from the warming sun, and the radiating beauty and the love I see in your face. The world stands still, whilst my love for you makes mine go around. It starts to rain, and increases in intensity, this wakes you. The thundering raindrops send a cool breeze through the window, and greet my newly woken love. You open your eyes, take a deep breath or the morning, and smile. The invigorating scent of rain, coupled with that expression; this is my perfect moment. But then, aren’t they all?

The way you write, Vill... I feel like I'm living within the poem. Your words become reality... and for a moment I am in it. How sad when I have to leave at the end.

You sure are right, Diva. Fantastic, Villager. This one put me in a 'righter than rain' mood.
