Peering into darkness, I see your frightened eyes.
I reach out my hand... you cower at the gesture.
We sit for hours... seemingly at an impass.
The darkness cools my soul. The light engulfs your heart.
Once I too roamed through the shadows,
and sought comfort in the corners of the night.
And you walked boldly through the daylight,
your soul ignited all those around.
Burnt from a flame of a lover, you sought refuge in my corner.
I listened to your stories, O' how I dreamt of the sunlight!
