Bollocks to that, I would rely upon my friends to tell me if I was being shafted in such a way, and so I'd definitely do the same for them. Anybody who says otherwise is shirking their moral responsibility for the sake of avoiding personal involvement. i'm sorry, but once you've seen it, there's no going back. You owe it to the friend to let them know.

But I would feel as if I had failed as a friend if I didn't tell them. Not only for the emotional pain later on, but the possible diseases they may catch.

Having been through this myself, (my buddy kept his knowledge of my girlfriends seeing someone else to himself) I would have to warn my friend. The truth hurts y'all, but in the end its the way to go. BTW, my pal got his just deserts about a year later when his roomie decided to keep his mouth shut regarding his girlfriends rendezvous with another man. He of course raised all hell coz he wasn't told!

first of all, i would go and slap the mate across the face, and more if i were in a pissy mood. i know what its like to be cheated on, and it doesnt feel good. and i would definately tell my best friend. thats what best friends are for, in my opinion. to be there for each other

I have been the knower and lost two friends because of it. I had a girlfriend who was cheating and I never told and eventually when all came out... I was the bad guy. I dont regret it all. The ONLY thing I would change is I would have told the guy she was cheating with how lame he was and left it at that. Mabey I should have walked away at that point and found some new friends to hang with.

Sorry to hear that Gracie. I guess it gives you an idea of who your true friends are though. I still don't think it's a person's business to tell. That's too much meddling for me.
