Was she a beauty? P.O.S. [peice of crap]? Puke green?

I owned a 1971 Superbeetle. Bright orange with chrome on the side. That baby could haul ass.

Really what is it??? A wood scooter with a V8 engine??

My first car was a "TRUCK" 78 chevy luv, had to learn how to drive with a stick shift... My daddy said you can drive anything as long as you know how to use the stick shift. :D

'61 Corvair. I was fifteen, paid five bucks, it came with an eight track. I got it stuck in a field in Colorado, left it there after removing my Led Zepelin IV and Alice Cooper eight tracks, and the pack of matches that held the tapes in place.

Sorry, did I cross-post from Amish.com again? Technology and automobiles always confuse me, even at the best of times.

Ok so I don't have a car yet... but I can tell you what it will be:
I'll take a super heavy duty extended cab truck, wire it up with all the electricity, lights and phone jacks I need, have a deisel generator/way to hook into the power grid, and I'd load a fridge, air conditioner, my computers, and bed into it. That would kick ass.

'76 White Formula Firebird. With the best anti-theft device ever made! A 15¢ plastic stick-on phony lock, that I placed just behind the front left wheel. You wouldn't believe how many times people asked me to turn off the alarm, or which key turned off the alarm.

The amazing part about the anti-theft device was that it was incredibly easy to open the car when it was locked, all you needed was a ruler, slide it down the window directly over the handle and the lock popped open.

Howdi! Welcome to the forum! I hope you have fun. So, it' s that easy to pop the lock, huh? And exactly HOW did you acquire this car? :D ;) :D

Thanks for the welcome :) You may want to bring a winch and the jaws of life, If they dont have that car out by now (I would hope they do, its been years) It was stuck on that rock pretty damn well. theres a bit less headroom with the floorboard like that too but *shrug* its free :D

Car was legally purchased from a family member. Sadly it was sold in 1990, after 150,000+ miles and several cross-country trips.

Now I'm boring and drive a minivan!

Here's another old thread for your reading and RESPONDING pleasure. :)

I was a lucky girl - my first car was a 1967 Camaro. It was metallic blue with a white vinal top. It also had black vinal interior and no air conditioning! Your ass would stick to the seats something awful in the summer. My dad restored it for me for my 17th birthday. I got that thing at my surprise birthday party complete with a giant red bow on top! There are days when I kick myself for ever getting rid of it. :(

This isn't a picture of my car, but it's similar.

I bought a car for my biological mother. It was technically mine. A orange colored Dodge Colt. That was my unofficial first car.

"I'd like to thank the little people of this world for this great honor. Here's to world peace."

* love_tattoos hits SysLord over the head with her torch because he did not ask permission to pinch the "spoiled rotten" bum. ;)

A sexy bum like that never needs to be asked permission in the first place ;)

* SysLord thanks LT for the convenient 'hair cut'

. Now I have a Ford, Mazda, Probathon. If I could get the butter knife out of tape player and take it for a new stereo, it would kick. That's a resolution I could keep. Save for "music!" (I have radio) Cigarette $ for music....sounds fair to me and then some. ;-)

I still have my first car, although sadly enough transmission problems have left me to drive the spare (read: fucking SLOW 4-cylinder) S-10.

My car, though....my baby. 1972 Pontiac LeMans Sport, 2 bolt main 350 c.i. V-8, racing rear-end, two-barrel carburetor, headers, Flowmaster exhaust, MSD distributor...I miss driving her, just for the prospect of being able to truck along at 120+ m.p.h. with no problems. I've never taken her out and railed on the accelerator to see the top speed, but I'm sure that she can handle 160+ with minimal hassle.
The glare on this picture sucks ass, but you get the idea. For $1500, it wasn't a bad buy at all.
