I think that the way the human race is now its really hard to know exactly where you came from. So many different nationalities now and so many mixed races. I really dont think that most people could pin point their racial history if they wanted to...... I personally think its great because it cuts down on racism.
Nobody is black, white , mexican, chinese, Indian, American Indian or anything else

Whats your thought?

I don't believe in reverse racism. Hate is hate. Unfortunately, I think that people will always find something to fear. Something different. That is what creates racism.

When I was in Curacao, it was very common to have mixed marriages. What I found even more amazing were the children of these marriages. They were beautiful! The Dutch history of the island brought people from all points of the compass and they have blended well.

Unfortunately there is still a lot of hate out there. It seems to remain in those less culturally aware, less educated (not educated as in schooling), and those who for some reason or another have self esteem issues and find it necessary to cling to their race to give them a sense of identity. My mother is half Greek and half Chinese...I LOVE mixed marriages...woot to you usantic...it's true, children of these marriages are GORGEOUS!

Not quite true Kitty.. Look at Italy, France and many other countries where highly educated, well paid men and women are members of different parties which when you look at them really are Neo Nazi and have a program with alot of hatred in them..

I agree with you Andie. Racism is not necessarily of a product of the 'have-nots' or 'know-nots'. Racism is about FEAR. In the coming decades that fear and subsequent racism will grow. Fueled by the ever growing pressure of mass-migration on a global scale. I just hope humanity can find a solution this time without reverting to violence.

Let me clarify...yes, Neo Nazis and extreme racism have happened in areas where people were "well educated". However, I have seen so much racism where people weren't even aware that their actions could be construed as...well...racist...here in Montana and when I lived in California. It's those racist views we don't even realize we have that bug me.

I think we have our different cultures and geographical locations to consider here. When I see the word "Racism" I think ignorant rednecks. That's because it's what we see in the news. The Klu Klux Klan is thriving in America. Hell, David Duke got 3% of the vote. That's a lot of rednecks. What frightens me is the ones you don't see. The ones in high power jobs who conceal their hatred. It's scary as hell to find out a neighbor is a Klansmen.

Are skin heads part of the Klan??

When I see the word "Racism" I think ignorant rednecks.

I can understand how that word would get assosiated with the term "rednecks", however we really do need to realize that apart from the "Klan" and other hatred groups that we are familiar with, there are thousands and thousands of people in this world of all colors and ethnic backgrounds who have a relentless hatred tword any people out of their own racial background.

I agree, Dimples. My point was that while I may associate it with the KKK, there are many other kinds of racists. SysLord mentions Nazis, Red mentioned skin heads, Kitty talks of the ignorant folk she may have come across. The term itself is colorless, non religious, and knows no geographical boundries. Around the world there is racism, and to stamp it out we must first start with what we know.
