View Full Version : It's The Principle
You find out that a product you really enjoy is involved in something that you are against. Would you boycott it?

Of course...now I should mention that I'm pretty easy going. It takes a lot for me to be totally against something. Like, if a company were into clubbing baby seals or something else heinous.
Bought a football once made by a company i wount name (ADIDAS) and found out it was made by children..Took it back but they wouldnt give me my money back..
So i drew a face on it and sent it to the european HQ of said company..Always wondered if it got there..
Ben & Jerry's ice cream supported a cop-killer's defense fund. Never ate the stuff since.

Yes, the common interest is more important than your own individual one in this case.
It's too bad more people don't know about that, Blue. Thank you for the link.

I'll agree that the "cop killer" is obviously guilty, but whether or not a person is guilty they still deserve a fair trial. I don't know enough of the details to judge whether or not is WAS a fair trial, but as far as Ben's actions go-I'm not going to stop buying Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream because Ben is being harassed for trying to ensure that that man gets what any American is supposed to be guarenteed here...and that is a fair trial. Ben and Jerry's supports a plethora of causes, and I don't think this one is shady enough to be worth protesting his product.
I agree with you kitty...... they really do support a number of causes well worth the while besides this one.
And if you really want to get into it there is a company called Proctor And Gamble that makes just about everything you can think of from toothpaste to baby powder and they animal test. And i dont just mean they see if something is going to sting your eyes......... they brutally kill animals everyday in the name of cosmetic purposes... its foul and disgusting
I think I have to rephrase my previous post. I have no clue what this 'case' is about really so what i meant to say is that I will boycott a product if I know their manufacturer is involved in shady things. 'Knowing' and being properly informed is the key word here.
