View Full Version : Best sex 'is within marriage'
Forget young, free and single, the best sex is in marriage, according to a survey of 2,000 British women.
Two-thirds claim the best sex they have ever had has been within wedlock.
The survey is also good news for British men, with 76% of the women saying their partner was a "great lover".
The survey, by health and beauty magazine Top Sante, suggests sex need never be boring with 65% claiming their love life never went off the boil, even in long-term relationships.
Magazine editor Juliette Kellow said: "This survey turns on its head the idea that the best sex is when we are footloose, fancy free.
"The truth is, truly great sex and deep intimacy are most likely to happen within the trusting, committed environment of marriage or a long-term relationship."
Love and affection are the most important parts of a relationship, according to 83% of women, while 60% say they have sex on average nine times a month.
Eighty-two per cent say it is possible to stay faithful forever.
Stress at work is the biggest reason for driving down sexual desire, according to 45%, while 55% want more sex.
What are you guys doing over there Glad? Way to go! What about the rest of you? Do you think Americans or other countries fall close to the results of this survey?

Now, I wouldn't know for sure, since I have never been married. I do think that love and affection are hugely important and that marriage can help deepen that intimacy...however, there are enough people who marry the wrong person that this is not necessarily the case. I've never been married, and thus far sex/affection/intimacy has been daaamn good.
Most of my married friends are always complaining about not getting enough sex. That was supposed to be a perk.
I can honestly say that the day before the wedding and the day after did'nt seem any different..
But when you love someone enough to marry her/him then there you have a difference..
You get to have sex when you marry??????

im saving sex for marriage and defiantly for love only...its my belief and not just religious based...i also want to marry a virgin (if i can find one) the thought of someone sharing the most private/intimate moment lovers are supposed to share, with someone else just turns me off...i dont think i could do that

I voted yes, at the risk of being the only one.... but was glad to see other yes votes.... when the marriage is good, and two people are seriously in love with eachother, marriage gives more freedom to explore... making love is more about pleasing your partner than yourself and when a married couple do that..... (or any couple, but it is usually more secure in marriage) both people are left much more than merely satisfied. It is easier to give your all if you know the person getting it is going to love you forever. Just my 2 cents :)

I do agree with your point to an extent Princess...but I think in a non-married, but still loving commited relationship, the same thing can happen. :)

Well Andie, I suspect my wife was the other 24%
I still believe marriage is forever and not just for the good times or Christmas. I have never been unfaithful, and am proud my marriage has lasted 22 Yrs.
As for British guys, well I am hardly Mr Casanova, so I need to bow out of that question gracefully.
Waiting for marriage is a great concept, but let us talk about reality. I had a friend who was from India, who was put into an arranged marriage with no prior contact or discussion. After they got married, on the wedding night, it turns he unfortunately did not only not know anything, but was 2 inches long hard. SHe was teribly unhappy and if they would have at least discussed things like that they would not of got married. This is an extreme example.
So what do you do. If you want to remain a virgin fine. But you need to discuss sex, what you think your drive is or if you have masturbated what it is. What you like, what is important other you could be walking into a nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best sex in a marriage. My first marriage yes, 2nd not.

What related is it then? No one dies from lack of sex. More like too much!
Its related to what that person is like..and what his/her experiances have been like..

abstinence makes the heart grow fonder....if you didnt have sex every night you would enjoy it even more when you got it
might be true twitch..but there are couples who have such passion, such desire for each other that it just cant be stopped..

*blush* .... at least.....
All blushing aside, I see no reason why sex wouldn't be better. But I too hear more people talking about how they don't have sex as often as they used to. Some reasons are semi valid - kids. Others just can't explain it.
When I was living with my boyfriend I had sex up to three times a day "lunches permitted". I was a VERY happy camper the rest of the day for it.

Everyone is making a valid point, true I have had sex for years everyday. Now that my husband is older, his poor body is not what it use to be..... So, sex is a thing of the past... I'm not gonna cheat so I can just dream about being young and having sex. Besides, marriage is much more than just sex.
Red, a woman like you should be loved every night.
Every woman should be loved every night :)

If more people spent time trying to make eachother happy, the world would be a better place.

It's hard to convince people to keep trying though...they get discouraged right quick.
In my case, it seems to get better and more plentiful with the years.
