I hear the echoes of my cries
The door shuts... I am alone again.
My body shakes, not from cold.
But from fear, lonliness, regret
Voices around me, words of hope
shatter on the ground beneath my feet
I lean against the wall
touch something cool
A handle without a door
I turn and hear a click
The room is filled with light
My cold heart beats softly
I whisper "Are you there?"
In the distance, I hear an answer.
