Sometimes I wish the world would stop for a moment. Let everyone catch their breath and then move along. No sounds, no movement except for the wind, just... stop. So much has happened on our tiny planet. So much death, so much violence. So much hate. I remember seeing a TV show about a man who is the lone survivor of some catastrophy. He's happy because now he can just sit and read his books. Being alone isn't so bad. Let's face it, we've fucked this planet beyond repair. Now we're turning on eachother. If there is a G-d, he's long turned his back on this world. He doesn't even have to create an 'Act of G-d'. We're doing the dirty work for him. No one is safe. Do you think it will ever get better? I remember hearing about 'the olden days' growing up. Now I have my slightly altered stories to tell. Soon the 'olden days' will be stories of how we used to be able to just lock our doors. "Really. grandpa? No electrical beams and booby-traps? Not even a high -powered rifle in every room? Wow." Oh yeah, I just remembered the ending to that story. The guy breaks his glasses and is blind as a bat without them. Okay... well that would suck.

The twilight zone you refer to is with Burgess Meredith. Great story!! Sadly, I have to agree, the planet as a whole is in a lot of trouble. Our youth are now moving up to the plate, to make change from within our system (or create a new one). That's why we need to invest in them. Encourage free thinking and free will.

I totally agree with you Bff Biff, but sadly when budgets need to be cut, education is the first to go.

You kids are the future but are text books really neccessary??

Our 'education system' is an oxymoron. The world is due for a change, but sadly, as history teaches us, it's usually war the facilitates change. We're a weird, fucked up species. We have all this beauty, yet we destroy it by the numbers.

Jealousy is nothing, if you smash what the other guy owns.

You know, as lame as im gonna sound, someone once said to me, "if every day were a wonderful day, then what would i have to look forward to". if someone destroys the world cuz they want it all to themselves, what good is it if theres nothing on it worthwhile.

on a little side note Biff: I rather like reading your posts, very sobering looking on life.

Shoot! Sorry thisisme. Here ya GO (http://www.asiacarrera.com/index3.html)!

I remember having this great teacher in college. She told her class that since she was new, she was going to be laid off rather than those with 'Tenor'. That day I went to the cafeteria and an elderly man was in front of me. He seemed lost and I honestly don't think he even knew what day it was. When I asked the cashier who that was, she replied, "That's the physics teacher." That's a price we'll pay for saying that senority rules.

I couldn't remember which show it was from, but it was very good. Just like the man who got the stop watch that when you clicked it time stopped. You clicked it again to start time again. The Twilight Zone Rules!

Diva: Thanks for the link...i didnt know who she was..and well....now i do ;) going back to the twilight zone..do you remember the episode where the guy flips a coin in to a box to pay for his paper (?) and the coin lands on edge and he could read peoples minds and it drove him mad. I miss the Twilight Zone.

Biff: maybe all the real history is in the books the gov doesnt want to pay for? you know ignorance is bliss and all of that nonesense. if i dont see the problem is not really there...
