I look at the book... so weathered, torn.
The book of my life has seen better days.
I flip through the chapters, memories surround me
Then I stop, and pause to turn the page.
The current chapter flies open, filled with pain.
Tears blur the print, but I know it's content.
The page is like a stone, so heavy to turn.
Then it is over, and I am left with a blank page.
I am weak from the last chapter.
My heart aches and I am numb.
Brighter days are ahead. They have to be.
My hand shakes as it picks up the pen.
