View Full Version : Cheap! Cheap!

Diva

I was listening to the radio today when they were talking about cheap people. Everything from 'washing' paper towels to not flushing toilet.

How cheap are you? Do you know anyone cheap? What have they done?

Andie
10-03-02, 10:24AM
I wish i was cheap..then i would have some cash once in a while..

Jake

My great aunt would bring her own teabag to restaurants. I would just cringe when she pulled out that tinfoil. Not only that, but the teabag might have been used once already.

God, I know people (well used to) that used to go to all you can eat buffets and then put bags in their purse so they could eat more. I never did cause I thought that was pretty stupid...???? All you can eat and still need more....???? Damn. I'm cheap to a degree, but because I have to be not by choice. It's kinda cool now cause I love getting a bargain deal and it gives me a rush to find something for a buck or $.50 that would have cost alot more at a department store. I used to be the total opposite, but I got tired of blowing all my $$ and being broke. I've even heard of people snagging sweet and lows at restaurants. That's bad.....

Um, besides stealing extra food out of food schwag here on campus and stealing their toilet paper to use as tissue/towels and showering once every two days to save on the soap, hand washing clothes to avoid paying to use the machines, the only food I buy is ramen...

Hmm...I'm not cheap, I think I'm just a college student :D

SysLord
10-03-02, 01:03PM
Um, wash once every two days? Mm, hope you are not a hairy kitty :cheesy:

Jake
10-03-02, 01:28PM
tissues as towels? That must be mighty strong tissue.

I can relate to the hand washing your clothes. And Top Ramen was my best friend in school, too.

Bff Biff
10-03-02, 02:29PM
Let's take up a collection, and buy the Kitty girl some soap. The idea of a two day old puss... oops, kitty, is disturbing.

We will have to have film though, OK?

kittyroze
10-03-02, 02:31PM
Lol...no, not a dirty pussy...er...kitty...I'm very much a neat freak and hygeine oriented...not that it sounds like it, huh?

Heh. You gotta watch it around these guys, Kat. Leave em an inch, they'll call it a mile.

Well, here's my poorest time.....Homeless!!!! It was only for about 10 days and I had a great time, but I'll admit handsoap sucks for the hair in the bar. Dawn dishwashing liquid is a little better. But, I had everything in my purse, make up, brush, toothbrush, perfume, deoderant, hairspray, money (some) keys.....I just didn't want to come home. I even went to RHPS. But, after the 10th day, I bummed a bus token and went home and had some vegetable soup. (?)

SunnyHeadcase
10-03-02, 07:31PM
I was thrifty when I needed to be, when I first moved out here. But now I prolly spend to much money on stuff like the Chung King soy sauce instead of the La Choy, The Old Navy jeans instead of the Target AZ, Pepsi instead of Safeway brand cola. I've been burned too many times from buying cheap stuff, so if I can afford it, I get the best.

kittyroze
10-03-02, 08:37PM
Again, I'm into the college cool look. Thrift stores where you can buy jeans by the pound rock. Not that I don't go all out once in awhile. I AM a business major, I drop cash into power suit dresses and stilleto heels when I can.

Bff Biff
10-03-02, 11:23PM
Stilletos....... Never do we get video, just images in our minds, of our forum ladies in high heels and power suits. Diva, I demand we have a video thread.

BTW... I surrender, take me to your leader....Please.

Probably true, but I want to die taking a chance. It's good for the soul. Good night, you bad, bad girl!!!

kittyroze
10-04-02, 12:17AM
I thought I was just dirty ;) From not showering that is. Sorry. I would like to clarify that I do shower daily...I just don't necessarily introduce the soap.

kittyroze
10-04-02, 12:21AM
"Hi soap, this is Cat" "Cat, this is soap"...sorry...I just...yeah. Nevermind.

Bff Biff
10-04-02, 12:29AM
Uh Huh...... fess up! did you finally buy soap?

Buy Martha Soap, for all your friends.........

Bff Biff

MM, maybe it depends on whether it would be interactive or not. Playstation 2?

kittyroze
10-04-02, 03:01AM
Mmm playstation 2. I am dying to play Final Fantasy X.

SysLord
10-04-02, 03:11AM
How can a poor college student afford a PS2 heh? :)

kittyroze
10-04-02, 03:13AM
I can't...which is why I'm still dying to play the game. I have a PS 1 an ex lent me the day he broke up with me. Needless to say I've kept it over a year...I'll probably return it at some point...buuuuut...after I can buy a PS 2 ;)

SysLord
10-04-02, 03:17AM
Good timing for breaking up I would say. My sister has a PS2 she hardly ever uses. Another case of how trends and commerce can fool people into thinking they *need* something. I will stick to SimCity on my Psion :D

kittyroze
10-04-02, 03:19AM
Lol, I just want to borrow a PS 2 really, to see FFX. I just have a thing for the final fantasy games...something about beautiful graphics.

SysLord
10-04-02, 03:34AM
I will give my sister's contact details lol. I think I have a Final Fantasy game once and I have seen the film. Very nice indeed. It's amazing what the design studio's can do nowadays with the top-notch graphics hardware power. DOOM III is supposed to be ghastly scary.

kittyroze
10-04-02, 03:35AM
I haven't heard too much about doom...I HAVE heard a bit about Halo on the XBox...it's supposed to be a blast.

SysLord
10-04-02, 03:42AM
Haven't head about Halo. Well too be honest I am not a M$ lover so that's probably why. DOOM is pure cult though. How I still love playing the first version of it. Primitive but fun! Roooooooaor :)

kittyroze
10-04-02, 03:44AM
I'm not a M$ lover either...but...yeah. I like to download old nintendo games, meself. Something about crappy graphics appeals to me...in a different way from the good ones...but they're still great. It's those ones that are middle of the road that bug me.

SysLord
10-04-02, 03:53AM
Exactly, the real primitive ones are great! Where are they days that people could code a whole game in 10K! My first ever computer was a Philips one that could hold game cartridges with a memory size of ... 2K!

kittyroze
10-04-02, 03:55AM
Wow...how long ago was that ;) My first experience with electronic games was the gameboy. My parents refused to let me play nintendo until I was nine...when I went on a tour of france with my family and had to spend hours and hours on a tour bus.

SysLord
10-04-02, 04:02AM
Gameboy, that's way advanced. That used to be my favorita pass time on the toilet lol. It was my sister's gamebody mind you :) Mmm, the 2K computer was about 20yrs ago.

kittyroze
10-04-02, 04:04AM
So, my age then. Yikes. ;)

SysLord
10-04-02, 04:10AM
'Yikes'

That says it all.

Ancient

Prehistoric

Darn, where's my cloning therapist!?

kittyroze
10-04-02, 04:10AM
Oh my my my.

SysLord
10-04-02, 04:20AM
Jee, what do you with a patronizing tweener heh? :D

kittyroze
10-04-02, 04:22AM
I'm sorry, did you say something?
(ignore them ;) )

SysLord
10-04-02, 04:32AM
You can't, they are a fact of life. They have infiltrated the core my existence. The truth is out there.

kittyroze
10-04-02, 04:34AM
Where? What are you talking about? Huh? Weird?

;) The truth is in there rather...I think we'd all be better off if we understood human nature/thought processes a bit better. I really don't think psychologists have come that far.

SysLord
10-04-02, 04:42AM
I don't think we ever will not even with the most advanced genetic technologies. That will remain part of the mystery and beauty of being a human being.

kittyroze
10-04-02, 04:45AM
Although I won't put a limit on the vast and beautiful intricacies (I am too sleepy to spell right now) of the human being, I will also say that one shouldn't doubt science. I don't think there's anyway we can say that in the next 300 years (or whatever) that we won't be able to make any huge leaps in understanding people.

SysLord
10-04-02, 04:56AM
No I don't kind but I choose and hope to believe that some parts will always remain a mystery. I'd very please with a 95% figure.

Hey Cat, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz :)

kittyroze
10-04-02, 04:58AM
Don't encourage me...I've pretty much committed to an all-nighter at this point.

SysLord
10-04-02, 05:09AM
How about some coffee then? Cappuccino? Espresso?

kittyroze
10-04-02, 05:19AM
I wish. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with myself...I'm just trying to cut back on the high calorie beverages.

I knew a guy who walked around with duct tape holding his shoes together. He insisted they had some life left in them. We took them when he was sleeping and gave them to a homeless person. He actually was going to ask for them back.

Iced tea, baby. I drink iced tea. :p

I saw this man take 2 news papers from a machine. Why would anyone need two papers?

kittyroze
10-04-02, 06:30PM
When I'm out of bandaids and have no cash I've used cotton and tape. I once used cotton and duct tape when I was out camping to deal with blisters.

Bff Biff
10-04-02, 06:43PM
I've used duct-tape for everything. Birth control (i taped my thing to my butt) and Birth control (i taped a bag on her head) and birth control (i taped her mothers' car keys to my ass)...

Do I need to go on...

Moral: Duct Tape is good. I'm simple...........

kittyroze
10-04-02, 06:59PM
Hey baby, let's try this kinky toy...yeah...okay, here it is. Yeah, no no...it's not a paper bag...come on....just put it on for a second...ahhh...pllleeeease ?

Duct tape rocks...if you can't do it with duct tape, it can't be done.

Bff Biff
10-04-02, 07:06PM
Agreed.... Agreed.........not only a bowling, trash mouthed, educated, cheap, slut... but practical too. You cannot hang off the ceiling without the aid of Duct-Tape. My roadies called it 'fix-all'

"A new thread" Kitty?? ? The many uses of Duct-Tape????

You first, Diva next, Tats and Jenn if you're still talkin"???? Then the boys, that when it'll get wicked........

Kitty Rose, you can have high calorie beverages.....Just drink while standing....See people in America....kids more like are gaining and gaining from technology. Don't get me wrong I love my toys, but I would stand and get online if I had it set up right. But, back to my point....when I was a kid we went outside played all kinds of shit, but now a days they've supersized all the fast food products so you're stomach will stretch and all the toys kids have now they just sit in front of. No wonder kids are heavier than when I was a kid. Times have just changed so that's all they know, but shit! I didn't even have Atari!!! I had a fucking Vic20 from hell....Still do somewhere??? (closet stash) But, me and my friend realized that god who needs a supersized Big Mac!!! I get a fucking "happy meal" and toss the fries...."Ooo, I got a toy!" I'm going to collect them and do ate up pics.

kittyroze
10-05-02, 04:32PM
I understand, but now people are trying to sue McDonald's for serving those high calorie, artery clogging good time, high fat meals. Which is ridiculous. It's people's own fault for eating them. And for not going outside more.

President Pube? I mean...er...Bush. Yeah, I used to have plenty of thoughts on him...but I realized it wasn't even worth bothering ;)

SysLord
10-05-02, 05:03PM
Disagree, you should be bothered. Too many people not bothering makes Mr Dickhead get away with so many things.

kittyroze
10-05-02, 05:06PM
I bother when there's something I can do about it...my best friends and I take turns writing some mean letters to the editor...but that's about all we are able to do at the moment.

Fuck!!! "I never gave him any reason to???" See, miss kitty, I rest my case. Fear. Any reason??? of course you didn't give him any reason. Is there an acceptable reason???

None... No reason to kick the dog either, for doing a no-no on the rug. Rugs you replace. You can't replace a loved one, including your "dog" "wife" "love" "mum" etc... get my drift???

I'm starting to really like you and understand you Kitty. Please bring on the next generation of people that care, by saying "NO" The future is in your hands.

Carry it carefully.........

kittyroze
10-06-02, 11:36PM
Wow, you're really sweet Biff. Let me warn you...it's DAMN hard to get anyone to care. Everyone seems to be filled with such apathy...and yet it seems so forced. Like they just put up that wall to protect themselves. Anyway, more later :)

Bff Biff

Kitty, read my bio... I'm 50, happy as a clam, retired, although I have never quit working, and I have a great family and great friends/dogs/critters/varmints/food.

My concern is one thing and only one thing. The future holds no mystery for me. I've 'died' twice, am still kicking, and will go on kicking for a while longer.

However, my kids, and you, will have to carry on in this world. I hope, above all things, that we take a lesson from our indian brothers and sisters, and start to care for the earth, so that it is still inhabitable for the next generations. It's scary to think that we could leave a wasteland, or even worse, nothing at all, for the next generations. I would hate to be remembered as the generation that 'fucked it up' for everone that follows. What a great legacy. eh???

kittyroze
10-06-02, 11:51PM
Happy as a clam cause you know how to appreciate the important things...

I've been raised to live hard and fast...and not give a shit about the other things. I figure if it's what I was taught, it's what other kids my age have learned as well...

I'm not saying I don't give a shit about other things...I do...it's just so hard when so few other people do. And those who do, don't seem to be making that big of a difference. SIGH!

Bff Biff
10-07-02, 12:45AM
