Article (http://www.starwars.com/episode-ii/feature/20020925/index.html) - I read this article and still can't decide. Which movie do you prefer? The widescreen shows you the whole scene, but you lose size in the picture as a whole. The fullscreen enlarges the picture to fill your television screen, but you lose part of the background.

I prefer to see the whole scene. When it's fullscreen, they chop it up to show everything.

Wow... you folks have color. In our trailer, when it storms, we have to get the someone to hold the rabbit-ears, so we can see anything, other than snow. You guys are spoiled.

Thank heavens for kids.

If the black parts above and below bothers you then get a widescreen tv..cause widescreen is the way to watch movies..:)

I'm slowly going over to widescreen. Unfortunately, I don't have a DVD so it's limited.

I hate being out of the loop. I thought it meant Laughing My Ass Off. Or am I missing something here?

Andie, are widescreen TVs flat and long? :p What happens when you look at a full screen with a widescreen?

Those TV's are usualy flat and long, yeah..but dont have to be all flat..
And normally it stretches the picture or you can choose a special mode that creates black lines left and right instead of above and below..
It all depends on the TV itself..:)

I'm going to have to see what these TVs look like now. Since I'm only going to use it for movies, I hope they're cheap! I have a 1989 Radioshack 19inch TV right now. It still works.

They are usually more expensive than a "normal" TV, but worth it if you watch alot of movies..And get a DVD player too..;)

I've always been a fan of the letterbox format. even on VHS I would make sure it was letterbox. You miss so much of the movie without it, and then sometimes there are some just real horrible pannings of the picture so you catch more of the scene.

Now if I could just find the Ninja Turtles trilogy on DVD in letterbox.

Hi Sunny. Good to see you. I remember how people got sick for that Blairwitch Project movie. My friend rented it fullscreen and got a headache it bounced around so much.

You don't have to loose anything if you have a recent wide-screen TV :)

What do you mean? It fills the whole screen?
