I'm by no means an expert, but through my wife, I'll answer any 'Hedgehog' issues.

Don't let the gloves scare you. This is our fave female. Very friendly..

That is so cruel! My dad taught never to hurt animals. Of course this comes from a man who would point to a jaywalker and say "Ten points". :cheesy:

Hey Biff, that sure don't look like a pocket pet to me. You must have one hell of a pocket. ;) how big do they get? They are mighty cute looking. What kind of living arrangements do they have?

We used to be called the Zoo when I was growing up. We had everything. 2 horses, 10 dogs, 10 fish, 2 parakeets, a turtle, a hamster, 2 guinea pigs, a rabbit and any animal I found hurt on the road.

One day my dad and I walked out to the garage and the guinea pigs started sqealing. I said that I didn't like them because all they did is sqeal and run away. My dad asked me why I got them. I said, "They're not mine." We checked and no one said that they got them. We never found out how those obnoxious little things came to our house.

How I know what you mean!!

Problem is, and don't ask why, I'm the one that takes in all these critters. My daughter is even worse. I'm unable to say no (stop it, no, stop, don't, stop, don't stop, don't stop) and on it goes. Obnoxious is a kindness, when you talk about these pests. I'm going to have to move, to make room for the 'rodent' graveyard. Great targets though.

I made my dad chase down a dog for a half an hour in Switzerland so it didn't get hurt. He was so glad there was a tag so that he didn't have to 'adopt' another dog.

We have a hedgehog coming into our garden now and again. IT used to be always great fun with our doggie Sally who went mad barking her head off at the little lawn creeper :)

Dogs just go nuts over 'em.. K built a pen in her studio, with 1x6 boards. The big dogs lean over and try to snag 'em. They end up with a face razzing from the quills. It's a hoot to watch 'em .....

Aren't you worried that one will get hurt?

Maybe a dog will get hurt...... the 'hedgies' hiss and spit, roll up in a ball, and give the dogs a 'what fer', and the dogs never learn.

Nope, my dough is on the rodents...........

I want to see more pictures of the babies!!! Their faces look so cute! Or a close up of the nice one. I've never seen one in real life.

The only animal I truly hate is the American Possum. They may be cute in other countries, but they're mean bastards here.

Wow... Is that a float toy??? who would have thought that the 'hedgies' would enjoy such popularity. Kathy can't believe it. We've met our calling. We are, hereinafter, the hedgie people. All orders should be directed to:

Spam? You are so silly!!!!! I would like to announce the anti-spammer: Biff the wonder boy. He eats spammers for breakfast. Or is that spam?

Did you do a Google (http://images.google.com/images?q=hedgehog&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en) search on hedgehogs yet? There are so many pictures and sites out there. I never knew how popular they were. The owners rave about them!

I think they are generally quite safe unless you flatten them with a truck tire.
